Well this is a shocker, I'm guessing the team chose D-Will over Sloan.
Respect him as a coach, but screw the Jazz.

Good coach. Got a lot out of the guys he was given. His Jazz teams were never overflowing in talent even with Malone and Stockton.

i hate the jazz(haven't liked them since stockton & malone each left), but i have a lot of respect for coach sloan.

He had enough talent to win. Stockton is a top 3 point guard of alltime, Malone is the greatest power forward of alltime, Deron Williams is the best point guard in the NBA right now and will most likely go down as an alltime great point guard when it's all said and done, Boozer and Jefferson are allstar caliber players that have been snubbed from all-star games because of the number of great forwards in the NBA. Sloan had enough talent to win championships. Sloan didn't get the most out of his talent.

I disagree. His teams never had as much talent as the teams that did win championships. Malone is a great player, but he isn't the greatest power forward of all time. He is definitely in the conversation, but there are a bunch of great power forwards.

Jordan was the only reason the Bulls beat the Jazz. IT was very close. The Jazz had two top players; the bulls had 3. And Jordan.

Who's better than Malone? Maybe Duncan but other than that no else can be argured to be superior to Malone.

I would say that Rasheed Wallace is easily in the discussion.

No way. He had 3-4 elite years, but that's it. He was a major underachiever. Had the talent to be the best player in the NBA, but didn't try hard enough.

no maybe...Definitely Duncan....

How is Duncan definitely better. Duncan can't hold Malone's jock strap from a statistical standpoint. Duncan has the rings, but he never had to face the greatest player of alltime in MJ in the Finals. Replace Malone on those great Spurs teams and they win 4 titles too.

If it wasn't for Jordan Sloan might have won a couple of championships.
Yep, I really miss those great Bulls teams. I used to plan my week around watching the Bulls in the playoffs in the 90s. Come fall i'd plan my Sundays to watch the Boys.

Some of your opinions leave a lot to be desired. Duncan is better because he could finish the job. Malone choked in those Finals: Missing two free throws in Game 1 in 97 Finals that could have won the game, having the ball stolen from him in Game 6 of the Finals in 98. He had a chance to seal a game with no one in his way and blew it.

I remember hearing a cool story about that. That game was on a Sunday evening and when Malone gets up to the line to shoot that first free throw Scottie steps over to him and whispers in his ear, "The mailman don't deliver on Sundays." The rest is history!
:laugh2:

Who exactly did Duncan beat in the Finals? The Nets, The Cavs, The Knicks, and the Pistons. Not exactly top notch competion. If Duncan faced Chicago I bet he would've choked.

Still, rings are everything in sports. I hate to say it but Duncan is probably the best PF to ever play the game. Karl Malone was a beast and hell you can also put Kevin Garnett in that discussion aswell. Duncans 4 rings though put him over the top.

I don't mind people saying Duncan is the best power forward of alltime but to say it's not close is ridiculous.

Who cares who he beat. He WON, four times and counting and he went through Shaq, Kobe, Phil and the Lakers to do it a lot of those times. Those Jazz teams had an easier time getting out of the West than those Spurs teams did.

You make it sound like Utah had it easy. They had to play the Lakers too. Bottomline is Duncan didn't have to play Michael Jordan if he dud he would have zero rings. Malone > Duncan.
