It seems like the one thing that most fans, cowboys players, and players from around the league all agree on is that we are not a "team". We are a very talented collection of individuals.

I give Jerry credit for fining M. Bennett for his idiotic rap video. Now i dont think his so called apology was sufficient. It was a corny rap about how he didnt really do anything wrong but he will say sorry anyway. However, overall it is a step in the right direction.

Now Jerry needs to bring the hammer down on any player that act or makes comments to the media that are not helping us become a "TEAM".

I would like to see Roy Williams 11 fined for his comments about our team. He isnt helping the cowboys become a better TEAM by mouthing off about our play calling.

During the season when TO talked to dion or anyone and decided to publicly criticize our team he should have been fined or suspended.

Jerry needs to act like the GM of the geatest TEAM in football. And letting players publicly criticize our team needs to be stopped.

This crap about the locker room snitch that some of these players like Newman were calling espn and talking about during the season should have been fined and punished.

It is a shame that you have to treat a group of professionals like a 5th grade school class.
We just have a team that has huge mouths and personal agendas that they decide to put over our team.

We are a joke because of this behavior.

When a veteran 'Big Name' Cowboys player is fined, especially a two initialed one, then I'll believe it! Bennett is by means NO star yet!!!

This team is a circus, and Jerry Jones is the lead clown.

Sadly, you are correct. The collapse this past December - again - is about as low as it can get. A team full of attention seeking prima donnas and an owner/GM, head coach who is clueless does nothing to make any of us optimistic. Next thing you know, JJ will be courting Michael "Dog Fighting" Vick to come play at Big D.

What a circus indeed....

I think RW should have kept comments to himself. But Jerry Jones shouldn't fine him. That would make him look like a Czar. Freedom of speech may regulate what the government can't/shouldn't do, but many non-governmental organizations would like to think they uphold the spirit of constitutional law.

Simply put, you can't go around fining guys for stating their opinions. It would make Jerry look bad.

I really believe the only reason(s) Bennett was fined were:
1. He used a Cowboys helmet in the video, so Jerry had an excuse to fine him when the media came down on him
2. He's not a star player.

Bennett is young and needs to grow up, when he does that he'll be OK.
FWIW, i am an A&M fan. I thought and still beleive that the Cowboys did right when they Drafted him.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least. He'll probably pick him up from jail like Dick Vermeil did Lawrence Phillips, but I doubt he'll cry when he lets him down.

Should Romo have been fined for his ho hum attitude towards football after taking one of the worst losses in Boys history in the rear?

Hu? What does one thing have to do with the other? Romo may have shrugged off the game, but he didn't use racial slurs and foul language while doing so.
Apples and Oranges much?

Speaking of Bennett's dumb ***, did he ever catch any flak for saying he'd "punch Yoa Ming in the face" in one of his enlightening youtube videos? Seems like someone would've made a big deal out of that...too.

Neither did T.O. yet you seem to be a proponent of him being fined. Agenda driven much? And before you reply, keep in mind that T.O. didn't do anything more in words than Romo did. Carry on.

Sorry, I can't sugar coat it any better than this.

I too honestly believe he'll go after Vick. What a dope.

But Wade should emphasize that airing the team's laundry in public hurts team unity, pulls the team and fanbase apart, and is not going to be tolerated.

The Dallas Cowboys don't need each player to be the organization's spokesman.

If someone wants to break the rules, so be it, but be prepared to face the stiff consequences. Whether it's being taken of the bench after the first few series, ostrasized (sp?) by teammates, fined (if possible and warrented), or whatever.

This is nothing new. B Parcells did the same while he was here.

I have to disagree with this.

Very rarely will Head Coaches go after players that are extremely productive on the football field.

Normally Head Coaches will go after marginal players or Rookies and make an example of them.

Furthermore, those same Head Coaches will find a way to replace those productive players that aren't buying into the system at some point in the future.

Fining Martellus Bennett $21,000 is not a bad move by Jerry Jones. However, he needs to remain consistent, discontinue his "open door" policy and make players fear for their freakin playing life.

Then things will change at Valley Ranch.

This isn't happening though.

If you want a team to develop leaders then you need to let folks speak. If it isn't appropriate, let the players and coaches talk to the guy about it. You don't jump on someone and fine him because he speaks what he thinks is the truth about our team. That just creates an environment where guys who actually care are discouraged from talking.

I can honestly say i see your point. Missing are the old coaches ala Landry, Lombardi, etc. I think Tomlin and Whisenhunt are cut from this mold, and would fine players regardless in the terms of 'team'... IMO!!

Throwing Offensive Coordinators under the bus is hardly developing "leadership" skills.

Roy Williams shouldn't be fined.

This is where somebody like Ray Lewis would step in and molify the situation and help the Coaches and Players get on the same page.

Sadly, we don't have a guy like Ray Lewis in our lockerroom.

Even worse, we have guys in our lockerroom that have Hall of Fame talent like Ray Lewis but their personalities and leadership skills are either not there or haven't been developed, even though I think you are a leader or your not.

He started what?

Overreacting to a non-football related activity by Bennett?

That's fine. But I had better see him fining the likes of Terrell Owens a game check for each time he makes the franchise look bad.
