I don't get what the fuss is about. Well I get it the fuss, it's dallas, it's the QB position etc. etc. But the Jones' have done nothing wrong. People act like Dak is this timid high school kid that doesn't have the confidence to ask out the girl next door.
After 2 sub-par performances, Jerry & Co. simply said we not making a change now, but Dak needs to be better because we have Romo on the sidelines. If that comment got Dak questioning himself and cause him to lose confidence (which I doubt it has) then it's best to know that now, before investing in him long term. Cause if those simple comments get to Dak, then he's not going to be that QB to lead Dallas to the promise land.

The funny thing is it's the former players, media, message board posters who got all riled up and "flabbergasted" over Jerry and Co. comments, while Dak is essentially agreeing with them. Toughen up nancy's, being a Dallas Cowboys starting QB is for big boys; if you can't handle being challenge to play better and put up more than 24 points in 2 games, then move on.

That is great but as long as people are playing the what if game what if Romo comes in and loses? Do we go right back to Dak? It is not just the confidence of the QB but the confidence of the team. What kind of confidence do they have when the people above have lost all confidence? I think it is easy for fans to say well we should just change out QB without having to face the consequences that follow.

If Romo comes in and loses then you go back to Dak. If Dak then continues to struggle, then at least you know you tried everything to win this year. Also if Dak continues to struggle, then you know more about him when evaluating your franchise QB.

Look, I think its pretty clear to everyone that Dallas can make a playoff run with Dak. 11-2 has shown that. I think the entire locker room knows that the ONLY reason a switch to Romo is being made is because they know they have a Pro-Bowl caliber QB waiting there on the sidelines. If it was Mark Sanchez back there, then you're not having this conversation. It doesn't make sense to let him sit there while your rookie QB is trying to get out of a slump. They've fought too hard to be in this position to get home field advantage. And to lose all that because you didn't want to hurt Dak's confidence while you have a potential Pro-Bowler on the sidelines would hurt the locker room more. I think the locker room would respect a coaching staff that is willing to do everything it can to win now.

Another part of that question can be answered with practices. Romo is getting some 1st team snaps during the week. The team pretty much knows what Romo can do by seeing him in the those situations. That's something that fans (me included) don't know. I mean if Romo is actually looking awful in practice, and then they make the move, then ya, you will lose the locker room.

I doubt the Cowboys are going to be grasping at straws or playing musical QB, yes that is what some fans would do. Typical for fans to go into panic mode at the 1st sign of trouble. Fact is only some fans are pushing this people who ultimately do not have a say or a vote have not. Fans can back Dak or not that is their choice.

Switching to Romo is hardly grasping at straws. And a switch (if any) would only happen if Dak struggled against TB. If that were to happen then that would make 3 straight sub par performances for the offense. That's not going into panic mode at the 1st sign of trouble. None of this is a knee jerk reaction, or hail mary. This entire situation is why Jerry has been saying Dallas does not have a QB problem, they have a QB luxury.

Votes of confidence are a grand tradition in all walks of life and essentially meaningless, IMO, like pep rallies in high school. The whole team had a bad game -- not you though, Sean -- as did the Gnats, and there was a decent probability that if we get one more yard on that Bailey FG attempt the game ends up a 5 quarter tie. Two good teams frozen into the lower end of mediocrity. So, time to move on, and I expect the Cowboys to be back in top form at home on Sunday.

The Boys need to win out and finish this thing up in Dallas and Houston, stopping in Philly on the way for a Beagle Beatdown.

Well there you go, and as it should be. You can't keep switching QBs during the season unless you've completely given up on the QB. And after 11 straight wins, I don't see how you can say that.

The defense had a pretty good damn game, and not just Lee.
