ha ha.
He just came along for the ride. Those rings aren't his.
History has proven it to be correct.

And the clock is ticking on the OP or any other Jerry supporter providing a logical, convincing response to this.perrykemp;4820559 said:It's pretty obvious that no other team in the NFL would hire Jerry as a GM.

He just happens to have enough to own the Cowboys. He is not a great football man. It is a joke to think so.
Rack Bauer;4820530 said:Jimmy built those teams, you know that.
How many of those rings did he win w/o Jimmy's players?
ZERO.
jazzcat22;4820726 said:Get over that excuse...what did Jimmy do after he left Dallas....NOTHING....Supposedly he had a hands off owner...yet he did nothing....
marshallsboys;4820561 said:Jerry Jones is this generations version of George Steinbrenner, who finally had the sense to hire the right people and step aside and watch his Yankees win several Championships, and just sign the checks. That's what JJ should do, step aside and hire a Jimmy Johnson type man. Maybe a Bill Cowher.
Dodger12;4820592 said:As a follow-up, the whole "Jerry will spend money" is really a load of BS. He was notoriously cheap in the early days. He would never pay a head coach what the going rate was, often going on the cheap, and made an offer to Terry Donahue that he balked at and walked when everyone thought it was a done deal. If I recall correctly, Switzer, Gailey and Campo were some of the lowest paid HC's in the league, if not THE lowest paid. He was also tried to go cheap with Irvin and, of course, Emmitt resulting in his hold-out. He went cheap with Kenny Norton who left to go to the 49er's and that had an impact on our D at the time.
When he bought the Cowboys, he promised the team's employees that their job was safe and a short time layer fired those same employees. Jerry's a snake oil salesman.........
Plankton;4820729 said:Since Jimmy Johnson began coaching with the Dolphins in 1996, he has as many wins in the playoffs as the Cowboys (2).....
.....despite not having coached in 13 years.
jazzcat22;4820738 said:And no SB's.....
sonnyboy;4820720 said:Jerry's official title is Owner/President/GM. Anyone with half a brain and no ax to grind understands that Jerry is Tex Schram with ownership.
I really wish he'd drop the GM title since he's never operated as the GM.
Clove;4820889 said:Jerry has done nothing more than make us the punch-line to fans outside of the organization. His refusal to hire a legitimate coach (who's not close to retirement) has handicapped this franchise.
We are an embarrassment, and Jones doesn't care. He's a billionaire, everything he's ever wanted in life, but he's too selfish to do the one thing this franchise and fan base needs him to do, STHU and let someone else run the football operations.
So keep bringing in these so called studs, the Cowboy misery will continue.
WHAT???CCBoy;4820690 said:I wonder if ownership of any business organization is highly concerning upon the deciding of management concepts within that company. It applies to the NFL, as it does to all private business. You either like the product, or you don't. That is the final line with a business product.
But product is usually disjoined from management.
Too often, there is high ground assumed by fans, who feel that by circumstance directed and disappointing level, they can project themselves into a superior role and a better understanding of function in a sport.
Bottom line, the team is as likely to right itself, no many how many lines in the sand by fans. Or insults thrown merely from discussing team involved issues and not an insult catch all of Jerry Jones.
Want real reason to be upset? Have your favorite hunting dog eaten by a 'crock' and not just projectecting as some fans do, to insights and accomplishments of mainly imaginary natures.
What that does, although, is it throws out valid discussion of every other issue or principal that has merit as well.
