The guy is a force in the middle. That would free up Tyrone Crawford to play defensive end so I hope so.

Let's see if he can even get on the field first.

I'm sure Jerry isn't just spitballing. Generally, coaches talk about things and gm Jerry is the public face.

Agreed.

And you don't have to be Kreskin to sort out that without Lawrence and Gregory, Crawford will probably need to be used as the strong-side end while the guy they signed from Oakland will be the weakside end. Tapper and J Crawford will be the reserves.

Randy Gregory is WAY on the outside looking in at this point.

There was an interesting talk on The Ticket today about Hardy and his negative influence on the team, especially the other DL because Hardy was such a dynamic individual... long post short... It was brought up that Hardy may have been a bad influence for Gregory.

That being said I think Gregory has the most pure-pass rush potential on the team.

IF he has his head on straight he can be a dynamic pass rusher.

I really want to see how much better Russell has gotten

I would need someone other than Jerry to tell me that to have any credibility.

There is a story about why his production dropped in the news forum. Short version is that early in his career he was creating all kinds of havoc when he could shoot gaps and react to the ball. Then the scheme changed to gap control and he never even looked at the ball but was supposed to read the tackle to control the gaps for other guys to make plays.

He did it without complaint even though he became a forgotten man. We will use him to create havoc and that is what his strengths are. Be excited.
