Yup then he went to tb and got 100 in 3 yrs on the cap. 20-22
In that same time dak has counted for 68 mil on the cap
Let's not act like dak has crippled the cap. 22.6 mil has been the avg the past 3 yrs for dak. Contracts like Elliot, Lawrence and Gallup are what's wrong, not daks deal. Daks is market value.
Agree, that as with ALL QB contracts the first couple of years arent the issue, and that is the period that a team has to go ALL-IN. It's the latter expensive years that cripple.
What's true is that we wasted those two 'cheaper' years of Dak's contract, as you say, because we were overpaying those other contracts you mentioned. This is the definition of CAP HELL....not necessarily a team being able to get below the CAP but that the team is paying off it's debts rather than having the space to go ALL-IN.
The problem that Dak has created is that his (and the offenses) inconsistencies may not be down to the talent around him (it appeared ok vrs Eagles and Buccs).....however what the last two years have shown is that when the season's on the line with less two minutes he hasnt shown the winning touch.....at least Brady could see when his day was done.
