Jerry thinks the team is close to contention

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on if Dallas is close to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles: "This time last year, I thought we'd win the division. ... We're operating with a mentality of (being) very competitive with our division. Not just the Eagles, but with the division.

"The Eagles are a prime one to talk (about) because they are the world champs. You look good when you're the world champs, as it should be. But we'll see how it goes. It's not smart to say that we're as good or better than the Eagles right now because they happen to be the world champs. So, I'm not going to be dumb there."

hic I’ll have another

All 32 teams are close to contention

It’s a year to year league you get a piece here and there and BAM

Instant contention

Pumping sunshine a little early aren't we?

I get it to an extent, we're 1 season removed from a 12 win season... Make some adjustments, get your players back healthy and get back into the mix. The only issue is you're now in the mist of rebuilding the offensive and defensive lines and need to invest a lot at several positions

Jethro is the kinda of Cowboys fan Stephen A often refers to. And why he hates Cowboy fans so much. It’s our owner who always says we are contenders for SB. Not most of our fans. Yes, some fans buy into his hype but not most. It’s fools gold.

Did he just called his QB dumb?

It takes a special kind of combination of stupid, senile, incompetent, arrogant, and stubborn to end up in the type of fantasy hell Jerry Jones has created and lives in.

I mean we all witnessed the same reality last season, and somehow his “takeaway” is that we are “close” to contending?!

Just go away Jerry. Please.

We're not going away from Dak.
If he simply let Dak play out this year instead of signing him,(price tag would have been the same) the situation here could have hope for change.

An opportunity wasted once again.

I had envisioned a different proven HC that would pick his own future Qb.....

Jerry really believes this nonsense. I thought he was off his rocker when he said that it surprised him that Dallas was not in the Super Bowl this past season.

He is always selling and pumping sunshine. Smh

You forgot “QB who doesn’t crap himself against good teams”…
Yeah, I've mentioned it in a previous post but I'll say it again.
That QB is definitely the starting point.
Because all this continued conversation of acquiring all these other roster pieces to surround a QB who is incapable of winning 4 straight playoff games regardless of even IF, his run game, OL and defense all balled out.

Dak still ain't winning 4 straight playoff games.
I don't care if Brad Johnson or Nick Foles did.

Dak ain't. His playoff phobia is real.
End of story.
