I'm still trying to understand what's wrong with what Jerry said.. Pound the rock and play defense is how this team needs to play. Zeke is the back best suited to play that style and his beating on the defense helps make what Pollard can do that much more effective. Sorry if some o yall don't like it.. but the fact remains.. 10 carries for Zeke in week 1 ended in a loss and a crappy offensive output.. 16 carries for Zeke in week 2 ended in a win and a much better showing.. If anything the Cowboys should have run it MORE this week .. and after watching Leonard Williams limp to the locker room last Sunday I think there's a chance we destroy their defensive interior with the big uns.. Why anyone has a problem with it is clearly rooting against the Cowboys. This team wins more when it runs more.. Period.

For sure need to keep pounding Elliot. He will start breaking the defenses down and getting longer runs. And change of pace with Pollard works great. Worked well this weekend. Need to just keep drives alive. And STAY WITH THE RUN IN THE SECOND HALF. We had a good lead and just because they crowded the line we went more pass in the second half. We need to run through these crowded lines.

Thank you for posting what many have felt for years now: that the Dallas offense should be a balanced offense led by the running game and not led by Dak's arm.

Thank you for posting what many have felt for years now: that the Dallas offense should be a balanced offense led by the running game and not led by Dak's arm.

You should have stopped there.. Why does it need to be "led" by anything? The offense functions best when it can do both very well. There will be games when the run aint workin and you have to throw it more and there will be games when the pass is off and you need to run it more. The key is being able to win either way and in neither case can you become one-dimensional.. because when you do that, you become much easier to defend. This team simply is not good enough talentwise to just dominate doing just one thing. They get into trouble when they act like they are..

I think the team did fairly well with how it split the load against Cincy. Pollard's snaps were more effective while Zeke had some success early, but the Bengals pinched down on the inside stuff in the second half.

I think the team did a poor job with how it split the load against Tampa. Elliott was being used very effectively and we chose to disrupt that instead of accentuating it with Pollard, who was not as effective.

A smart coaching staff isn't going to just hand the ball to Elliott so that he can reach a certain amount of touches, or sub in Pollard just because it feels he needs a certain amount of touches. We have two different types of back. See which one the defense is having the most trouble with and give that player the majority of the opportunities.

We seem fairly incapable of using both at the same time other than for a handful of plays, so find the best balance for each game.
