I'm still trying to understand what's wrong with what Jerry said.. Pound the rock and play defense is how this team needs to play. Zeke is the back best suited to play that style and his beating on the defense helps make what Pollard can do that much more effective. Sorry if some o yall don't like it.. but the fact remains.. 10 carries for Zeke in week 1 ended in a loss and a crappy offensive output.. 16 carries for Zeke in week 2 ended in a win and a much better showing.. If anything the Cowboys should have run it MORE this week .. and after watching Leonard Williams limp to the locker room last Sunday I think there's a chance we destroy their defensive interior with the big uns.. Why anyone has a problem with it is clearly rooting against the Cowboys. This team wins more when it runs more.. Period.

How do you know which came first?

They ran it 6 times on their opening drive against Tampa and scored.
They ran it 6 times on their opening drive against Cincy and scored.

When the Cowboys were running it with Zeke on their first drive against Tampa they were also leading were they not? Then they stopped running and fell behind..

They never stopped running against Cincy and for some reason never fell behind... Makes you go Hmmm.. don't it.

I think the fan base would be better off if we just realize that when it comes to game plans and execution what Jerry says usually doesn’t really matter. He’s like the drunk uncle. Let him rattle on and then do exactly what we were gonna do anyways.

I just don’t think kellen or MM listen to him on these matters. When it comes to roster construction that’s a different thing because he writes the checks and has to sign players but I’ve stopped paying attention to what Jerry says on game plans and scheme a long to,e ago.

Zeke has an $11.86M dead cap hit after this season with a 2023 cap hit of $16.72M so Dallas saves about $5M by trading/releasing Zeke after this season or, if designated a post June 1st cap hit, Dallas saves almost $10M in 2023 and nearly $8M in 2024.

By way of comparison, Dak has $89M in dead cap money in 2023 and $39.9M in dead cap money in 2024 with a $49M cap hit in 2023 and a $52M cap hit in 2024......

....so which contract looks worse if the respective player doesn't perform?????

He already looks bad for the RB contract only because no other RB's will get that....Stats on the other hand are highly in favor of both contracts...At the time Zeke was a beast again you dont like Dak and thats fine but in every statistical metric there is both players are top players over thier careers....Now what have they won..nothing...and thats matching every player on this team for the last 26 years.

All RB, especially starters, need to pass protect. ALL OF THEM.

Zeke is not out there lead blocking for TP or in line blocking.

THAT is what a FB does.

This is necessary, unfortunately, because Pollard is the worst pass protector in the pocket I've ever seen.

Not just physically but mentally as well.

TP just cannot recognize blitzes or know where he needs to go when DL stunt/twist.

Almost always guesses wrong.
