Agreed, and you really know what it's going to take.
Rumors were the Steelers offered 27 and he wanted 30+.
Porter will not get Gonzalez's contract, more likely in the McDuffie range, but come on, you know what CB pay looks like and where Porter will fall into.
Should have announced the resigning at the time of the trade, or, as another poster said, say "we have every intention of resigning him, next question".
Jerry saying this actually has me worried there is no definitive plan in place here.
A serious NFL GM doesn't trade a 2nd round pick unless he is resigning that player.

Put me down for the same thought as others. Why trade away a 2nd round pick if you didn't know you could sign him? Some people are suggesting that not signing him is not a complete disaster because if he leaves as a free agent the Cowboys will get a 3rd round comp pick for him. Not sure that totally remediates the problem for me.

What worries me is what Jerry said. Porter wants to Tango, just not to the same tune as Jerry . This already sounds like the Micah Parsons plan and we all know how that ended.

Perhaps Jerry just wants to see Porter play as a Cowboys for a few games to see what impact he makes. Then Jerry will decide whether to give him $30 million or not. That's not a totally unreasonable strategy.

George Pickens may end up being a 2 year rental. Still don't want to go back to CeeDee and nothing else. I say that as someone who likes Flournoy and that training camp darling.

Bingo, why these radio stations entertain him blows my mind. He literally has nothing to say besides a bunch of rabble, would make my day if the radio people were like this guy is really a distraction for the team lets yank this but content over everything is all that matters.
