Sad but not surprising, Jerry is comfortable with Garrett which is more valuable than winning I guess

Continuity is as important to the OL as is it with leadership. Most successful franchises don't change Head Coaches every 3 years.

"Said he'll either get fired or get probably a 5-7 year extension" Sound as if Jerry has not made us his mind one way or the other. Letting the season play out before making a choice? Damn Jerry he must be crazy who would wait to see how the season plays out. LOL

Jerry and a few others. I like a lot about Red, but his game day stuff is a killer. Im not so sure he will get that corrected. If he doesnt have it by now there is little reason to believe he will ever get it. Played football at every level. From a football family. Coaching at the highest level. Why hasnt he figured it out by now?

I'm not sure he's this horrendous coach he's being made out to be. Some of his gameday stuff is the type of thing that gets forgotten with a win and some of doesn't even get mentioned if he's in another town coaching for someone besides JJ. I've seen some head scratchers but some of it is shaking the label that so many slapped on him after the infamous "icing his own kicker" deal, even though he was calling a time out at someone elses request. I think it's out of proportion and other coaches make the same mistakes. But he has to start winning or even his supporters won't be able to give him a pass. I'm more worried that he's to affable than I'm worried about him figuring things out, I really hope he blows up the locker room some this year and breaks a chair at halftime.

the reality is if jerry wanted to sign him to 20 yrs he could. the fact he has'nt should show you that was more of what he would like to happen based on JG earning it. rather than something he actually planned to do

LMAO.

"If he had his way?" He can have his way anytime he wants. So if he wants to do it, why doesn't he?

And haha, some golden comments in that thread on this truly insane idea.

He's saying if the results warrant it.

All teams should want to retain their current coach for as long as possible. Otherwise, why the heck is he the coach of your football team? You want him to be the right guy. You don't ever want to have to make a change, because that means failure.

Jerry Jones has always run his mouth--even before he bought the franchise. He has not always acted upon statements he's vomited. Then again, sometimes he has. Best thing to do is not believe the drivel unless he actually does extend Jason Garrett for five, ten or 20 years. Or risk being Tony Banks gullible.

i just find it funny people will say jones says the stupidest of things, then turn around and believe everything he says in a fit.

would be quite entertaining if not so annoying.

An employee of his said he did on his team's website I have no reason to doubt it unless you have proof otherwise.

and i have no reason to believe he said it until someone posts a link to the quote.

i don't believe everything said on the internet, son. i'm just not that gullible. anyway, slide to ignore, have a nice day.

I provided a link to what I believe is the radio show and to the person, Jeff Sullivan, who they say said it.

I listened to the show yesterday but did so while I was doing some other things so I might have missed it but I don't recall him saying it like the OP indicated. I don't remember him saying the 20 year line at all but again I was doing other stuff at the same time so maybe I missed it.

Someone could go to the link I provided and listen if they wanted to do so.

People are reacting to a bad word of mouth interpretation of this report, but the report itself is exactly in keeping with the way the organization is operating under Garrett.

I think people who hate the guy ought to prepare themselves for the high likelihood he's here for a long while.
