If Jerry wants tougher and more productive Running Game let's see how Tashard Choice would do with more carries. I have started to belive he should be the Starter over Felix Jones or Marion Barber. I actually am starting to believe he is the best all-around back on the Team, but I'm not 100% convinced the true starting RB is even on the current Roster. You kind of have to admit that a Ryan Matthews sure would look good in the Boyz Backfield.

Matthews looked good because the SD O Line blocked well for him. He didn't do anything flashy in that game at all. I've seen all 3 of our backs make more exciting plays than he did with the same kind of blocking.

To your original point, I do happen to feel that Choice deserves some legitimate looks with our starting OL, because the truth of the matter is Barber has never been an electrifying runner, and in the past two years he hasn't even been running over people the way he used to.

Don't get me wrong here because I am not even putting them in the same universe, but Choice's running style reminds me of Emmitt, in the way that he makes something out of nothing and just makes quick decisions. He seems to have pretty terrific vision too.

If Felix is as dangerous this year as he was last year and stays healthy that point is moot anyway, because he should be getting the lion's share of the carries as long as he is as deadly as he has shown thus far when he's on the field.

No i'd prefer our combo than Ryan Matthews.


I also agree, TC could be the most productive of the 3 backs if givin enough the chance to do so.

Why would Choice make the running game more physical? Jerry was talking about the O-line and overall blocking, not the RB.

You hear it so often that a running back needs to get enough carries to get into a groove that sometimes I wonder if it's true. Switching out 3 different backs every other play may not be ideal.

Seems like switching would not only affect the back, but would affect the line as well.

Showcase Barber for the first three games and trade him. Choice + Felix is good enough. What other team has the luxury of three RBs like we have - NONE. Barber + RW.00011 for a good OL.
