Has anyone heard any comments by JJ on the game at all? Maybe I missed it, but it seems strange that he hasn't said anything.

From my understanding he wasn't available after the game...

This had to be one of the worse losses he's ever endured. He spent tons of cash on this team and Bill & Co. give him a big fat "turd". Horrible.

I think Jerry should have come down to the sidelines and given Parcells the same exact treatment that Parcells gave McBriar.

Parcells, Mr Thin Skin, would have quit today.

Blowhard.

That would have made NFL history, the first owner knocked out on the sideline during a game.

I like Jerry, a lot. Although I think his ego hurt the team for a few years, I think he's trying to reconcile what he's done by putting together a winner, because that is all he cares about. However, I think the issue with the league a few years back put him in the doghouse with Tagliabue. I don't like Tags. To me, there seems something fishy about him. I know JJ supports him, but I've never thought that he's done anything signficant compared to Rozelle.

Here are some of JJ's comments.

"This is not characteristic of this team, or these players," Jones said, effectively taking Parcells off the hook.

"This team has worked hard, and they'll work hard again this week," he said. "I'm confident that it can play better and that it will play better."

“the blame must start at the top.” My comment

"Give Washington credit," owner Jones noted. "They got us on our heels and really kept it coming."

"In the dressing room at halftime, there was a lot of resolve -- a lot of resolve," Jones said.

"And then we come out for the third quarter, and on our first offensive play we get sacked."

I don't know. I think JJ is in pretty good shape compared to Parcells. His face lift would also probably serve as a tough barrier against Parcells' punches. Like the Cowboys' chances in a game, it all depends upon which coach shows up, and just looking at it from experience, if I was Jerry, I'd like my chances.

he will. he's a smart man. but fixing it is going to require him firing the person he hired to fix his own "meddlesome" rep, so it won't be easy.

agreed - but then he's also the reason, or a part of it anyway, we've had the success we've had. some things you only learn by direct experience and many said jj would never back off and always be "hands on".

he did back off, now i feel it's time for him to take it back and find a youth movement all around.

LOL. The scary part is fans believe such bunk.

Jerruh needs to keep his mouth shut as he destroyed the dynasty and built the 5-11 out of contention in September mess Tuna stepped into.

Odds are much greater Tuna is extended 2 years than JJ agreeing with fans here after the HUMBLING FIASCO he created and lived thru for almost a decade.

Well yeah...I figured since I'm on a roll today that I'd trot out this idea. :D

I agree....Jerry is more likely to extend Parcells' contract than fire him.

I heard that after the final gun, Matt Mosley caught Jerry in his box turning to Stephen and mouthing, "He's gone."

and it's trying to cover for past stupidity that keeps people stupid, chinch.

no one is saying jjones DID NOT get in the way. but to put it all on jjones and not jjohnsons ego is just shortsighted and not realistic. as a team - it/we fell apart. you can't blame the one who funded the ordeal for killing it while never giving them their due also.

you were probably one of the ones who said jjones would never hire a football guy also. he's the meddlesome owner who'll never get it right. many people like you live in the moment and usually live well. but looking outside the moment there are a lot of holes in this ship parcells built - and he put the holes there or chose to ignore them as being "above water" perhaps.

if the contract is extended - then what? 2 more years of - what? parcells built this line for his qb knowing his qb's weaknesses. parcells scares players into performing and that doesn't work on someone with 4-5 hundred grand in the bank, it just pisses them off and makes them feel not part of the team.

but if he spends the next 2 years rebuilding the OLine, again, and even if he gets it right (of which he's not shown to pick ONE lineman worth a damn yet, petitti jury still out - give the kid a break for a "all that" coach for putting him in this situation) drew will still be drew and will win a few games, lose a few games, and be no factor in the rest.

that ain't gonna cut it, but that's all we have to look to. that and he'll not allow valid competition at that spot so he won't have to hear about it from the fans and media.

i'd be surprised if jjones actually extended the contract. if so, then it's a pressure move, not a smart one.
