I like Jerry, a lot. Although I think his ego hurt the team for a few years, I think he's trying to reconcile what he's done by putting together a winner, because that is all he cares about. However, I think the issue with the league a few years back put him in the doghouse with Tagliabue. I don't like Tags. To me, there seems something fishy about him. I know JJ supports him, but I've never thought that he's done anything signficant compared to Rozelle.

Yeah, he really changed the destiny of this team. We would have won 1-2 more Superbowls. We LET the 49'ers have that one in the middle of the 3 of 4. Jimmy Johnson would NEVER have let that happen. A 21 point spot in 12 minutes of first quarter.

He is a meddling owner. His meddling has only cost us.

his "meddling" also gave us the 3 superbowls that don't seem to be enough for you. how come jjohnson doesn't have an ego to some? just very odd.

My friend, he gets credit for the SuperBowls. Yes.

He also gets blame for costing us a few. Just like a Head Coach or a Quarterback. They get blame and they get the accolades.

As a DIE HARD fan as you and many others are I AM SURE... we have that right to call it like it is.

Yes, and I never said he didn't get some of the blame. In fact, I said he cost us for a few years. But, you can't change the past, and he's doing now what everyone wanted him to do: hired a legit coach, and opened his wallet (which he almost always does to win), and reorganized the drafting and scouting departments. He deserves better than the atrocity that was displayed yesterday from a head coach who is supposed to be one of the best in the league. He especially deserves more from that punk Rivera who'm he gave nine million in guaranteed money, who can't seem to push anyone forward.

but what it *is* to you is apparantly different than what it *is* to me, now isn't it?

what it is now is jones got smart and hired a top flight coach from past rep. something "diehard fans" said he'd never do. (i did, btw) but i also said this would be his handicap IF that coach didn't work out.

parcells isn't working out, HIS "win now" isn't, and i don't feel it will. i want him to "meddle" and get us the hell off this path and you seem to like it.

so we discuss it in newsgroups like all rational fans do. : )

Hey mister...Jerry is to blame.

This can not be argued as it is fact and it is fact because I said it is fact.

Ok...It may not be fact...but I think it is a fact.

well...on second thought.

As you were.

;) :D

he will. he's a smart man. but fixing it is going to require him firing the person he hired to fix his own "meddlesome" rep, so it won't be easy.

You mean firing the general manager first.

I have no problem with Jerry getting the bulk of the GM blame for the post-Jimmy years. He certainly ran some horrendous drafts.

But with Parcells now on board since 2003 I am thinking that Jerry should be in a secondary blame position.

Isn't it year 2 of Parcell's regimes where we are supposed to see miracles? I don't know the count off-hand but Bill has turned the majority of the roster over and so far can't produce a record better than what he did with Campos players in 2003.

I'm not suggesting there wasn't plenty of work to do. Nor am I suggesting we should be MUCH further along than we are. But clearly Bill is not the miracle worker some had hoped he'd be. And its also time for some to realize that the 90's glory would have ended even without Jerry's 'help'. Our current problems are not primarily because of Jerry's pre-Bill GM moves IMO.

Ditto.

Except piss off the older fans and make every NFL event a media circus.
