Sabermetrics is the future and nothing will change that. It took over baseball and is strengthening its grip across all sports.

Actually Cleveland is doing exactly what the Chicago Cubs did under their SABR GM: be willing to completely tank and load up on draft picks.

The Browns want to lose this season.

It's not unlike what Jerry and Jimmy did right after they first got the the Cowboys.

The only way that works though is if the Browns have the people in place to pick the right players.

I don't know if I believe that they've got those people in place. Maybe they do but I just don't know.

Could the Cowboys trade Jerry Jones for John Elway??!! I would go for that! Throw in Stephen just to even up the age difference.

That's true. You can't have just SABR experts...unless you also have good scouts.

But what SABR has done in baseball is strip away all the traditional prejudices that trips up scouting folks. SABR analysis would less likely overlook a Cole Beasley...or Dak Prescott.

I have little doubt that the Cowboys have looked at SABR more anymore themselves...
