Jerry's head coaching tree

That is the issue. Jerry only hires people he feels comfortable with or a coach he can trust. I don’t see It changing. I can’t see him hiring one of the young up and coming coordinators. Maybe Stephen can talk him into hiring the USC coach.
Jerry only hires people who are willing to kiss his butt and let him run the show

Owners having a coaching tree is news to me :muttley:
Come on, man. Jerry is de facto head coach, and has been since he ran Jimmy off. Did you not pay attention to the Zeke situation this last week? That was all Coach Jones.

Nobody has any power in this organization other than Jerry, and that includes Stephen. He only does what Jerry allows.

NO USC coach. NO NO NO

He showed the world that in 1994 when he closed down the bar with press members and belittled Jimmy citing that anyone could coach that team and win. The worst thing that happened (and Jimmy mentions this in his latest book), is Switzer winning that third Super Bowl proved Jerry right. He inherited a train running down the tracks and didn't wreck it. He had players that knew how to win and a staff that knew how to prepare. Jerry's been chasing that tail ever since.
Ah, Switzer. I always get nostalgic for our last Super Bowl whenever he comes up.

Heard this on the radio today.

What head coach hired by Jerry ever got another head coaching job in the NFL.

One. Jimmy.

And Jerry calls himself a "football man." Lol
6 HCs since Switzer led that Jimmy Johnson team to a SB.

5 playoff wins over the same period

That is as damning a stat as one can find on Jerry's reign. Jerry is flat out terrible at hiring coaches (and assistants).

So I guess his coaching tree is a twig with a dead leaf on it. :muttley:
It's like Garrett's: Worse than Charlie Brown's Christmas tree.

Jerry doesn't hire HCs for their coaching ability. He hires them for their complicity. Just one more thing Jerry does differently than every other NFL team, and one more reason he hasn't seen an NFCC game in 30 years.

Jerry has never really interviewed anyone for the Cowboys job. He always hires people he knows or he can control. Jerry wants to be comfortable that is why he won’t hire Bill. To your point of that happens in real life, not really. Pittsburgh, Washington, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Houston, ect are examples of teams that actually interviewed coaches and did not do the dog and pony show.
Hmmm…
I’d hope he wouldn’t hire Bill or even consider it because Bill is 73, and has a career 83-104 without Brady. Doing so would be mind boggling simplistic and lazy. You gain nothing by trying to cash in on the past of some other team in this league. Time to move forward with new innovative offensive and defensive schemes or it’s just gonna be more of the same!

He is not hiring Bill. They would never get along. Jerry and company would have to leave the spotlight. Never will happen.

Jerry likes older coaches. He believes he is hiring experienced guys that know how to win, but really for the most part he hires coaches on their last leg ready to retire and want 1 last payday.

Jerry's tree is basically Jason Garrett. Everyone every other coach was established already.

Yeah!
What I’m more concerned with is there’s some many in this fan base who are so simplistic that they actually want him to!

Only in his mind, that’s why he won’t fire himself. He is still trying to make that round hole go inside the square peg.

Bill will get an interview but that is Jerry wanting to dominate the news cycle. I bet he gets interviewed right before the Superbowl.
