No one as old as Jerry should EVER be allowed to run a NFL team. Hate to tell it to you guys but we are now THE Raiders Southwest Cowboys. Al Davis destroyed the Raiders until he died. Now his son is destroying the Raiders. You think things are going to change when the old man dies??? And Stepford wife Stephie takes over? Jerry wanted to be like Al.....MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I feel sorry for anybody not born during the Staubach-Landry era- or the Troy- Johnson era. Because y'all are NEVER going to know how great it felt winning and being feared and respected........Only Super Bowl you're going to see Dallas in is in your dreams....
At least Davis had some cred. He was the Raiders coach in the early 60's. He was the AFL commissioner. Still, he should have retired long before he passed.
The irony to me is that so many thought that Tom Landry should have been fired, citing his age and claiming that the game has "passed hm by". And, yet, half of what we still see when we watch NFL games on TV was invented by Tom Landry. This includes, pre-snap motion, the 4-3 defense, passing from the shotgun, etc.
The game couldn't pass Jerry Jones by because the game has always been miles in front of him. He can't even comprehend fundamental concepts to building a team like having a plan or using a unique strategy that gives the team an advantage.
Jerry only wants to win if he gets credit for making it happen. If it does happen it will be in spite of him. He is a huge handicap.
