JJ kept saying 6 and 7 as spots to tradeup for a WOW player preferably on offense...

I doubt we get the 6 spot unless Chicago gets it first...so I will focus on Minny at 7...

Oak takes either Russell or Johnson - won't use the 1 spot on a runner.
Det takes either Adams, Quinn, or Thomas - should take Peterson, but no one seems to be considering that.
Cle takes Russell, Quinn, or Thomas - some mention of Peterson
Tam takes Johnson, Quinn, or Thomas - some mention of Peterson here...
AZ takes Thomas, or Landry (shocker, I know...)
Wash takes Okoye...
That leaves Minny on the clock having a ton of holes. Jerry pulls the trigger here for Adrian Peterson.

IMO, if Cle doesn't get him, we will...

im pretty sure jones said he's not willing to part with what it would take to move up to 6-7. and stated that 11-12 is much more likely should his 'WOW' player be available...

not exactly...he mentioned 6-7 and talked about the possibility of moving there if the right guy was available...certainly, you are right about the likelihood, but Peterson seems a strong possibility...there seem to be no other realistic scenarios...in other words, who else would you trade up for that has a chance to fall?

i see the draft with only very few players id be willing to trade up for... since its not a QB, theres no shot at calvin johnson and Okoye doesnt fit our scheme then it would be if Adrian Peterson started slipping to like 10-11

Actually what Jerry said was "that one" meaning Peterson, probably wouldn't make it past the 6-8 region.

He was asked if he would trade up that high, and he said that he probably wouldn't do that, and he would be more likely to trade up to the 11-14 region if he traded up.

We would have to give up almost our whole draft, or go into next year's picks to trade up to the 6-8 region, and he did not want to do either.

I am really against the idea of trading up in the first. You want to trade up? Dump some of those 6th and 7th rounders for a extra 4th. I can live with that.

Unless Jerrah is willing to do a Ditka, then there is no way we move into the top 10.

I seriously doubt Jerry is going to move up to 7 for a running back. Everyone is always after the glamarous WR and RB picks, but this team still needs to improve in the trenches and the secondary in my opinion.

He did it for Emmitt, following a 1-15 season with lots of holes on the team.

I'm not saying he did say this because I didn't hear it... but if you are right Jerry said he wanted to move up 6 or 7 places to get a WOW offensive player, then he is probably talking about Marshawn Lynch.

We are at #22. It looks like Lynch probably goes at #16 to Green Bay.... which is 6 spots ahead of us. So it sure sounds to me that based on what he said we was probably talking about moving up and getting Lynch before the Packers take him.

Lynch would be a weapon

I would have a hard time thinking it's Lynch that he's talking about.

He was talking about a wow player if they started to fall past 10, and Lynch is projected to be 14-17 range.

Now i may be wrong, and maybe he included Lynch as a wow, but i think he's really talking about the situation where AP possibly drops past 10.

I think if we trade we should go down, pick up a 1st next year, and package those two 1st rounders next year to try and get McFadden.

I think he was meaning moving up 6-7 spots, not to the 6th or 7th pick in the draft.

McFadden next year. Good job, Dcowboy84! That's a very interesting idea.

I haven't thought about it much, but I think I'd prefer McFadden over Lynch and quite likely over Peterson too.

he might be a good player, but I dont see where he's that much better than whats here, and in most years Lynch wouldnt even be mentioned as a 1st rd pick...I think Jerruh is talking about getting a player who IS obviously a huge upgrade, and to me the only RB that would be in this drfat is Peterson

We can possibly trade up to the 15th pick (1050 points) from our #22 pick (750 points). Since the difference is 300 points we've have to give our 2nd round pick in 07 which is worth 370 points. Now we could also through in our 2nd rounder in 08 to move up to 12th but don't know if that doable.

It was pretty clear, Jerry said that he felt that there were only six or seven real impact players in this draft, four on offense, and about three on defense. He stated that if one of these six or seven impact players somehow fell to pick ten or later then he would strongly consider making a move.

He was pretty adamant about not giving up what it would take to get up in the to six area, which most certainly would require a future #1.
