We all heard Jerry say he was gonna consult with others outside of the organization that he has the upmost confidence in, who would some of these people be?

Holmgren ? and others ?

Basically any football guys not currently employed by another NFL team. Jerry probably knows all of them.

I'm not sure about guys like Holmgren that are currently between jobs. How much do they want to help their possible future competition?

Jerry's last big "consult" was when Joe Gibbs told him that the Head Coach should also be a coordinator or play-caller.

Ron Wolf, Mike Holmgren, Barry Switzer, Larry Lacewell, Bill Belichick, Bill Parcells.

These few have been reported over the last couple of years.

that name is a little suprising

Lacewell, Switzer, . . . . . . . . . . . .

Parcells? Do they still talk?

Who knows with Jerruh. The problem is he is all over the place when he makes decisions. If he has such good people in the organization why not get them all together and work on it? How do people outside the organization know whats going on there?

We all can see some basic problems with the team on the field. We can see it. Everybody can see it. But none of us outside the organization are best suited to come up with a plan on fixing it. Those closest to it are though. If they cant fix it, its time to get new people that can. But, thats what has been happening for 17 years.

Maybe Jerruh needs to look in the mirror as he says - only now be honest about what he sees.

lol i see where this is headed

Seriously though, the whole concept is laughable and deserves to be mocked. He's been the president and GM for 20+ years, is his finger so far off the pulse of the team that he needs to go consult with some outside sources to figure out what to do?

This is the problem when you have no organizational cohesion. No one sets the tone with the Cowboys, we have a revolving door scouts and coaches that may or may not be on the same page all clamoring for Jerry's attention at the same time. Whoever gets to speak to him last before a decision is made gets their way.

This will probably be what happens here. The outside source will get Jerry's ear and convince him to do something that may or may not jive with what Garrett's trying to do. It's like playing Russian Roulette.

He made a pretty good recommendation on the Demarco fellow. :)

That is one Jerry used to talk to for sure. Especially at the Scouting Combines. They always got together.

SEANCE!!!!

If he is going that route, the least he could do is conjure someone credible like Landry. ;)

While Al might have lost it in his old age, he was an innovator and great for the NFL.

That Top 10 list was excellant and I see nothing wrong with Jerry getting advices from Barry S, the guy clearly knows how to spot talent.
