I actually think it was a corner blitz. Or an attempted one. I don't think he guessed the route. Watch what Jenkins does immediately at the snap. He's not even looking at Dez. He just runs straight toward the QB. There's no way Dez could have crossed in front of him.

The only wrong analysis here is that Dez somehow made a mistake.

You are correct. Dez did not cross in front of Jenkins, That is what I liked about the play! It was like a trick play.

Dez played Jenkins like a drum. Romo drew that play up when he invited Dez to his house.

this article went over the same play and praised romo and dez for improvising on what was initially a draw play. (I'm not buying it though)

It looked like tracy porter was coming off a corner blitz anyways and dez ran to the soft zone in the coverage.

If it you watch the OL, they're blocking as if it was a run (not necessarily a draw). Murray also reacted as if it were supposed to be a run as well. Now sometimes, they'll show run and throw out of it. This may have been one of those times.

The CB on the play was actually Porter. Jenkins was the one who eventually made the tackle. Sham was mistaken when he said that Jenkins was the CB that was beat.

He's running full speed backwards to help cover deep in case the blitz doesn't get there.

That appeared to be the case. The corner was going to blitz, and Dez was going to run the slant as the hot route. The corner blitz was faked and Romo and Dez recognized it and adjusted.

Lol @ Dez making a mistake. The only mistake would of been Romo throwing the ball which he did not.

That was a preview of how this offense is going to work.

Now it is time for the defense to step up. I did not really like how they played...to sloppy at times.

But, Sean Lee? Damn, bro...settle down! :p Don't hurt anyone...!

These are previews of what the team is going to be about. The Special teams need work...big time!

I thought the defense played pretty well. They were swarming to the ball. And I like Wilcox. He's a hitter. We haven't had a player like him in the secondary in a long time. I hope he starts pretty soon, assuming he learns the defense.

Teams are more and more attempting to jump the quick slant when they know they have a safety over the otp...or slide a LB out into the path.

Could one see this "adjustment" develop kinda like the back shoulder throw,

This is from Bryan Broaddus:

In visiting with Bryant after the game, he saw Porter all the way and the depth in which he was playing so he knew something was going to happen and was just happy that Romo was able to make the adjustment as well.

I agree. I don't think Dez had a chance to ever cross in front of the corner on that play.

People this is waaaaaay over analyzed! They ran a VERY VANILLA offense last night, honestly it looked like backyard football out there. Where you make contact with the WR and tell him to get open.

Even if this was a busted play, it would make an excellent designed play. Pump-fake, short pass.

Well according to Broaddus Dez recognized what the CB was going to do which is a huge improvement on his part, Dez being able to read defenses only helps the Cowboys and i thought Holley was trying way to hard to come off like an analyst on the post game show. I figured the play was busted but Romo & Dez have got that great chemistry we've been waiting for.

We can chalk it up to chemistry, but I wonder what would have happened if the DE wouldn't have been in Tony's throwing lane causing him to pull it down. Might have been a pick six.

Are people really spending 3 hours analyzing a play adjustment that took 3 seconds?
