I read one post at a time quite often. I was responding to one post with a statement that he started ahead of those guys. All I did was point out why that is.

Water is wet.

No, I am not all that impressed with him or anyone else who was on that show. I thought it was a giant waste of time, even though it was entertaining.

It is one of my modus operandi. I see something ridiculous and I tear it to shreds. That post isn't the first tiem I have doen this, won't be the last, and was nowhere near the kind of venom I can lace a response with.

It's hardly worth getting all a fluster over. It's just some birthdates.

Is that another latin word, following up your modus operandi?

Hos is not a bear, of any kind...

At least, I've never seen him at any of the family reunions...

And he's right, making the point that Holley started ahead of all those other, UNC wideouts as a way of suggesting he has the same kind of talent they do is beyond silly...

Doesn't mean I'm rooting against him, I just think it's kind of unlikely that he'll survive much past the first round of cuts... Irvin's show was a PR stunt, nothing more... I tried to get into it, but just couldn't...

I know its silly lol, thats why I was getting on him for further driving in a point that was already made about him only starting because he was older.

I know Holley is nothing more than a big slow body who seems to be able to jump and get balls, but that was against little midget talentless cornerbacks so I don't know.

He may play for somebody, but it probably won't be Dallas.

I know this might sound ridiculous to some, but I wish there was some side converage on him specifically. Im really curious if he can indeed play, or was the show really just another reality show.

I enjoyed watching the show, but I wish I knew if Jesse was playing well or does the guy look as lost and hopeless as I would if I strapped up haha.
Here you go..

Reality check for Jesse Holley

Receiver Jesse Holley earned a spot on the Cowboys training camp roster because of his performance on Michael Irvin's reality show.

So, what is the word two days into camp?

"He's done a nice job,'' offensive coordinator Jason Garrett said. "You know, it's hard when you come into a training camp when you have no background with the offense.

"Mentally, he's done a good job and physically, he's an impressive kid. He's going to get an opportunity to show himself.''

Head coach Wade Phillips said Holley has flashed enough talent to show that he can play in the NFL. But can he make this team?

"It's awfully early,'' Garrett said, tapping the breaks. "It's only two practices.''

More than guys who never make it at all, and got paid for it as well.

Exactly.

People can hate on all kinds of players, all day long, because they weren't Legends, Hall of Famers, or whatever in the NFL.

But when a guy makes it into the NFL, makes a team, then they're already better at football than 95% of the other people in the world at it. Especially if they make it on an NFL team, or teams, for multiple seasons.

I never understand why people try and act, myself included at times, like these guys are just terrible, suck at football, blah blah blah just because they only make it onto a team.

If they suck, are terrible, etc, and yet they were in the league for multiple years, what does that say about the rest of us who didn't make it anywhere near there?

Exactly.

It means you sucked worse than they did.

We know he can't play already, he was cut from the bengals practice squad.

Kurt Warner was cut by Green Bay. Johnny Unitas was cut by the Steelers. James Harrison was cut by the Ravens. Not saying Holley is in any of these players' class but the league's history is full of second chances.

Michal Irvin just said on his radio show that he was talking to Jason Garrett and Jason told him this kid can play...it is just a matter of if he can learn what he needs to learn in time.

Well, if he really can play, then I would think that he'd be a practice squad guy at the least.

I hope for the best for Jesse, but he's up against really long odds now. He's missing that 1 in 12 shot he had on 4th and Long. He was clearly head and shoulders above the rest of his competition athletically, but he lacks polish. The quote speedkilz88 posted about his route running rings true.

But I don't see anything wrong with being a 2-sport star at UNC, then bouncing around from the Bengals to the CFL and then landing in training camp for the Cowboys. It doesn't mean he won't be able to contribute this year. I'm not expecting him to be the #2 WR when camp breaks, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the punt and kick teams with a chance to get on the field at WR a couple of times a game. And there was NOBODY else on Mike's show that was gonna do that.

I'll trust the opinions of Michael Irvin and Jason Garrett on Holley over anyone on this board who claims to know football, because Irvin and Garrett had great success as players, so I think they know a thing or three about what it takes to cut it in the NFL. All these other posting naysayers don't; so let them talk all the want on their Holley-hate. In the end what they think doesn't mean squat; and it's baseless!

Its all just speculation anyway. I figure that he will get cut, but I am rooting for him. Seemed like a good guy on the show.
