How many season ending interceptions has he thrown in the clutch?

Honestly, I have no idea what the exact number is. Regardless, considering the fact that he's won more playoff games than he's lost, I'd say he's done more to continue his team's seasons. Sorry, there just isn't a logical argument for saying that Favre is not and never was a good QB.

He WAS a good QB!! You're right. No one questions that.

He HAS done more good than harm to his teams. You're right there too.

He HAS won more playoff games than not ( I think??). Right again.......

But that's NOT the standard of adjectives you hear about him. You hear "all time best" and "greatest ever" and "unbelievable" and "we'll never see his kind EVER again in the history of the league", etc., etc.........

THAT'S the problem, because it just ain't true. He was good, won a lot of games, put up some numbers, and "showed up" to play (the old "hard hat and lunch pail" thing that everyone just adores about him).
But this guy, more than anyone in recent memory, has gotten FAR TOO MUCH accolades with regard to reality. If they would just speak about him in terms of Jim McMahon (who, BTW, has as many SB rings as Favre) or even a Jim Kelly or Dan Fouts, then fine. But they try to prop him up over Troy and Marino and Elway and Young and Montana and even Brady and Manning..............and I'm sorry, but no one outside of Wisconsin and ESPN gets it.
My Uncle Bruno, if he played for 18 years, would stumble upon at least one ring and get some numbers.................
And to unashamedly resort to another thread, if T.O. did ONE THIRD of the self agrandizing that Favre did, we'd never hear the end of it. This guy is the most self-centered, egocentric, attention-sucking machine that the NFL has seen in decades. I would put maybe Joe Namath ahead of Favre for some psychotic need for attention...............maybe. And that's a close call. The guy can't pick his nose without a press conference and shedding a tear..............
He's lame, yesterdays' news, and a bigger "team wrecker" than Owens or Chad Johnson could ever dream of being................

He's now a TICK on the butt of the NFL as a whole, and needs to be burnt off and dismissed before he's allowed to do his yearly "retirement" tap-dance to satiate his need for attention, and destroy the hopes of the next Jet season. Like he did to Green Bay last year. He waited until after the draft and after the free agency period to pull his little drama, neutering the Packers choices because it was too late by then. Talk about "selfish" and "self-centered"???? And all ESPN want's to talk about is what a cancer that T.O. is and how holy and pristine that Brett Favre is?!?!!?!?

Could you imagine, for an instant, the "all hell" that would've broken loose if Owens pulled that crap?

I find it funny that many will jump on this train and bash favre when you could apply what was said to Tony.

Explain please..........

I know about the Raven thing ending with the Eagle thing. I know about the Eagle suspension.
But when did Owens "hold a team hostage", sitting on his high throne, and ruin two teams chances for a decent season?

OK, fine, ignore me.......................

But NOTHING about Brett Favreverevereevrrrer resembles anything close to T.O.'s schtick or Tony Romo.......................

T.O. ain't the first one to "refuse" to be sent to a team he didn't want to play for (Elway, Eli Manning, Jeff George, etc....), so I don't get that totally.

As for Tony, the only thing he has in common with Favre is his inability to give up on plays and just throw the ball away. Not a bad trait, but deadly from time to time.
Any and all "drama" about Romo so far is only because he's the QB of the most prolific team in all sports, and the highlight film sells if its about the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. Every player has a sex life, takes vacations, shows up with a doll-baby on his arm in public, etc..............Whoever is the QB for Dallas is going to get the "Kobe Bryant" treatment. Goes with the territory.
No, Favre and FAVRE ALONE holds the title of "Pay attention to me" off the field. Not even T.O., Chad Johnson, whoever..................comes close.
If Favre were an African-American wide reciever and pulled the crap he's pulled over the years, he'd be on everyones' hit-list of "attention grabbing, me-me-me, it's all about The-Brett" bullseye.
But, because he's "folksy" and unshaven and "small town country", and speaks to the "common man", he gets not only a pass, but some weird hero worship.
I can't stand Favre and can't wait for him to dry up and blow away.........

Me too! The reason that Brett is percieved to be so great is because it finally took him some time to win a SB. Other than that, he's done nothing to make me think he's all that!

But...we will probably have to hear about him all season long! Retire or not retire!

:bang2:

Don't go away mad, Favre, just go away! You and your frozen tundra!

Read Thomas Jones' comments.

"The reality is, you throw interceptions, I'm (ticked) off, I don't like it. You know what I'm saying? I don't like it, I know everybody else on the team doesn't like it."

"We're a team and we win together ... but at the same time, you can't turn the ball over and expect to win," Jones said in the interview. "The other day, the three interceptions really hurt us. I mean, that's just reality. If I were to sit here and say, 'Oh, man, it's OK,' that's not reality.

I refuse to believe that there can be any trouble in any other locker rooms. TO can only be on one team at a time!

Lord knows that there's nothing of the sort going on for other teams or the media would be all over it, just like they do for us..............right?

You don't understand. This is T.O.'s fault too. In addition to single-handedly destroying the Cowboys' team chemistry this season and single-handedly keeping them from winning the Super Bowl, he ALSO poisoned the Jets locker room.

He is so toxic he destroys locker rooms he's not even IN.

He's also responsible for the bombings in India.

I don't get your referral and comparison whatsoever. Not in the least.

I don't even know where to start!!!! But I'll try.............

You gotta' START with the HOW and the conditions by which Favre and Romo came about their current jobs. Romo's taken the most EXTREME conventional and old fashioned, hard working route of holding a clip board for three years and working his way to where he is. Favre got his current job through a pissing and moaning and "I'll hold my breath, turn blue, and take my ball and go home unless I get what I want" approach.
Secondly, Favre fancies himself some kind of "franchise saving white knight". Romo's still in the "blue collar" working man mode.

Romo, to a much larger extent, is allowed to make those stupid plays and adventurous and youthful mistakes. He hasn't been "Holmgrenized" for a decade to exorcise those demons out of him. Favre has had every benefit of coaching and experience, and still resorts to rookie-esque behavior.

I'm gonna wait for about another decade or so before I start comparing Romo's problems with the chronic, career laced problems that Favre has.
