If you let players hit other players with their fist, and let it go, that is saying it is ok to hit other players.
It doesnt matter where they are, they will then think it is ok, many of these guys are not that bright, and many are prone to violence.
So sooner or later a player will hit another player thinking it is ok, and seriously hurt the other player.
That is what has happened in the geno incident, a player was just doing the manly thing which is ok and hitting another guy.
Only problem is these guys are big and strong, so a punch can do some damage.
To me it isnt that geno will miss games, it is he now has to deal with a broken jaw and that is for life, it may heal up ok, or it may never be the same.
So that is a serious deal, but coaches and owners are to blame for letting this go on for quite awhile.
I was watching some videos of the dallas rams fights, and IMO garrett and fisher wanted the fights to happen. They set it up so thier
might be fights and let it happen, then stopped it after they got the results they wanted.
I have read about fights on other teams in practices, so you could say this is condoned by coaches around the league.
It produces a violent mentality which could lead to incidents like the geno one or something even worse.
So they need to simple make rules that any punch by any player on another player anywhere, be it practice or elsewhere, or a game,
that player gets a stiff fine which can be very high depending on how bad it is , and that the coaches and owner are also fined heavily.,
If garrett and fisher was fined $500,000 for that practice fight, how likely is it that it would happen again??
If they are fined $5000, that is nothing and they would do it again whenever they want.
Same thing for players, have the minimum fine be $100,000 Then they will be more likely to not hit anyone.
To investigate one fight but not all is just ******** and wont correct the problem.
