NFLN Breaking News. Lombardi says that they are looking to set the stage for Namdi soon.

Good news. Don't let me down jets, snag him before Jerry mortgages the next decade.

Sapp:

Cowboys have the ultimate bargaining chip. We all wanted that star on our helmet.

I haven't heard the Cowboys come out and say they will ask players to redo their contracts therefore I seriously doubt Nnamdi is a real possibility.

He also said the decision could take 48 hours.

I like Nnamdi and hope we get him but the team has other pressing needs. I'm not fan of overpaying for him just to get a WIN for JJ's ego.

You have a number you are willing to pay, just stick with it. If you can't get him you can't get him. Move on after that.

This 48 hr waiting thing is BS. Both teams should realize that and just give a final number and ask him to freakin choose who to take to the ball.

In fairness the Jets didnt come out and ask their players to do it either. In fact we've heard nothing specific about any of Dallas' offers

"I just hope it ends soon".

I hope NA gets an ENORMOUS contract and it's with the Jets. One that pisses Revis off to the point of demanding a new contract.

Because they don't have to. They know it won't be an issue. This type of restructuring is highly beneficial to the player.

Dukes was grinning, nodding his head in agreement in the background.

Wow, that's big, especially from him!

Sapp has surprisingly sounded pretty intelligent today.

He was talking earlier about how Cullen Jenkins would be a much better fit for us. He went on to say with Jenkins + Ratliff on the D-line, and Ware + Spencer coming off the edges, it doesn't matter who you put at safety.

Although it would be exciting to sign a "star", I agree about mortgaging the future. We are not just one star CB away from winning the Super Bowl as sad as that may be to many of us.

The Jets have to re-do contracts in order to make room to bring in anyone else, whether it's Nnamdi or Cromartie or whoever. The Cowboys will have to do the same thing to bring in anyone of substance, whether it's Nnamdi or Cullen Jenkins or someone else. At this point, it's standard operating procedure around the league, and the vets tend to like it because it gives them more money up front. Stephen doesn't usually say what contracts he's re-worked or how they're done...he just does it.

Adam tells us how.

As I said earlier, it seems like the NFL Network was caught completely unaware by the Cowboys sudden interest.

The NFL Network has two people covering the Nnamdi story: Scott Hansen, who is at Jet headquarters, and Michael Lombardi, who is somewhere else on the east coast. There's no one at Cowboys headquarters or San Antonio.
