Unless you are talking about HC, Jerry can't do anything and I don't see Jerry firing Garrett. Don't get me wrong, I would not opposed to something like that but I don't see it happening.

LOL..... No, this is wrong. All that matters is what will happen. I can win the lottery but I'm not going out to go turn in my resignation because of that. I can be elected President but doesn't mean I'm selling my house because I am planning on living on Pennsylvania Avenue for the next few years. I can say that Jerry can keep Richard but I'm not going to because I've seen nothing in all the years that Garrett has been here that suggests to me he will get fired. You can say it could happen but can it really?

I think this is a tactic so he can find out how much he is worth according to teams. I think he will come back to the Cowboys and have them at least match the offer no lower as a DC or go to other gigs knowing how much he may be worth in today's market as a HC.

I think this go around we are going to see a lot of offensive coaches being hired. The last few had a lot of defensive minded guys. There is an ebb and flow to it.

I think the trend is towards Defense and a strong running game. I think that we see teams who have strong running games, have success. Rams, Chiefs, Philly, Saints, Vikes, Pats, Ravens and us, all strong running teams who are all in the playoffs. There are lots of guys who understand how to run an Offense in this league. This league has been about nothing but Offense for like 10 years. But finding somebody who can build a Defense to stop Offenses, that's a little different thing. I think it's not unreasonable to think that a team like the Jets, who have a tone of Defensive talent, might be interested in a Defensive Coach who understands the value of a strong Defense, the funning game and who has been around a championship quality team.

Not saying this is what's going to happen but I could see it.

Don't see him going to the jets. They're looking for a guy that can continue to develop Darnould. They just got rid or a defensive minded guy. Trust me the fans would flip out if they hired another defensive inexperienced coach.

Now that being said, i think Richard has the "sean mcvay" thing working for him in that he's a young and up and coming coach. If you could bring in an offensive guru then it would work. However i just don't see it in NY.
