If I’m JJ I walk up to Richard and tell him He’ll be the highest paid DC at the end of the season, and he’s the favorite to be the HC when JG goes.

The Jets aren't hiring another defensive minded coach. Especially one with as little experience as Richard. The interview probably is a precursor to them making a serious run at him for defensive coordinator.

Yeah I don't think Richard is a good fit for the Jets, and that's not the homer in me talking either. NYJ is likely just doing their due diligence.

I think Richard will benefit from the interview experience, though I do not think this will be his year for a HC position. The Jets are not likely to go with a defensive coach with a young QB in need of development on the fly.
