Jets should be a better matchup

The Jets-Cowboys game will be a big test for Dak. On one hand if he plays like he did against the Giants the Cowboys will win by two scores because I don’t see Jets moving the football on us. The defense will adjust to the Jets running game. On another hand this is the first home game on CBS against an elite defense and Dak is playing for a big contract extension. I think he will take more chances to get his stats up. That might play right in the Jets hands. We gonna see how much Dak trusts MM’s system with this game.
I agree. Just be poised and take what the defense gives you. Don't do like Allen did and lose the game. He's starting to remind me of Brett Favre. Can make some spectacular plays and throws, but is really reckless with the football. I hate that in a QB.

How good their defense is really doesn’t matter with Zach Wilson under center
But apparently it does. They had no business winning the MNF game, but the defense basically kept them in the game.

Jets running game will be a good test to see if our run defense is better this year. If we're honest, NYG never really tested our run D, but when they did, they were getting 4-6 yards a play.

We didn't have to open up our offense so it will be interesting how it performs against a good defense.

That sort of game isn’t consistently reproducible. Sure if the opposing QB hands you three turnovers and four overall, you return a punt for a touchdown and your receiver makes a once in a lifetime catch on a poorly thrown ball sure you MIGHT scrape out a one score win. But week in and week out it’s just gonna be a lot of Zach Wilson turnovers and three and outs leading to short fields and multiple score losses.

To put things in perspective, after Rodgers got injured the Jets got essentially every break in that game and won by one score in OT at home. We caught essentially every break in our game and we won by 40 on the road.

And running the ball has virtually no statistical impact on winning in modern football. It’s rare to win an NFL game purely on the basis of your ability to run the ball, and it essentially never happens against an elite team. Probably the greatest modern lie among Cowboys fans, at least apart from the belief that Dak isn’t a good QB, is that we lost the last two years to SF because of our inability to stop the run. It just isn’t true. And New Yorks inability to effectively and efficiently throw the ball down the field means they will have a very low ceiling no matter how good their defense is.

Aww here we go with this scared talk. Matter of fact I expect a thread like this every week when we face a new opponent. Btw Josh Allen meat headed *** lost that game for the Bills.
You understand that some fans can recognize a good challenge and welcome it? The Jets defense is very good. I look forward to seeing the Cowboys’ offense matchup with that defense. I think the Jets rushing attack is pretty strong, and I look forward to that matchup too. Do you need fans to not give respect to opponents in order to feel confident?

Allen wishes he was Farve. The Green Bay legend during his MVP years was one of the best quarterback stretches ever played in the league.

I won't argue with you there. I just didn't like Favre because of how reckless with the ball he was. Allen is reckless and not as good as Favre. I had the Bills coming in 3rd place had Rodgers not got injured.

Allen is hyped up by the media. He is Cam Newton. Allen is starting to get hit and it’s getting to the point where he will start getting injured. When that happens Allen is done being elite.

Allen is not elite. He's a good quarterback. Nothing more. When I think Elite I think Peyton Manning, drew Brees, Brady, Big Ben, Rodgers, and the like. He is not any of those players. He's closer to Tony Romo than any of them. He's just the elite class of this era.

Respect the opponent for sure. But I dislike the whole passive aggressive fan take with the “we may lose” mentality and then when we win, they the first trying to celebrate the victory like they were confident in the win. Not saying you’re doing that personally, but I see it here a lot and it’s corny.

Jets have a very nice defense. OL is their weakness but their rb’s are very nice. Not concerned about Wilson at all.
I thought the Jets OL looked infinitely better than the Giants',,, they were holding their own against a good Buffalo D.

Run blocking I agree. I think Micah is going to run circles against the Jets RT Becton. Becton is huge but I think Micah’s speed and change of direction will have Becton in for a long day.

When I think of Josh Allen now I will remember that he completed more passes to Jets players than Aaron Rodgers.

While Zach hasnt lived up to expecations he isnt so bad that he cant beat us. The conditions played a role in the destruction of the Giants. We have a roof for bad conditions and i really think a good ST play turned the direction of things. Prior to that Danny was running on us as was Saquan. Meaning Im still not 100% certain we can stop the run consistantly. Once they got behind Saquan was a non factor s they were forced to throw.

i do believe we will win but dont think it may necessarily be a cakewalk. I also believe our offense will play better. I hope well have smith back as the line still concerns me. Tyler B was getting pushed backward. Now some of that could have been footing but he could very well be the weak link of the starters and the Jets are stout up front.

As long as we get decent blocking , good decision making and execution we should be fine. Cowboys 24-10

Jets defense is legit...it will be a perfect challenge for Dak and the new-look McCarthenheimer offense
You're not going to have much success trying to hit 20+ yarders downfield, unless you're scheming up a shot play in single man-coverage. This is a matchup where the short passing attack will help for sure.

Remember how the Jets demolished Dallas with Sam Darnold under center the last time they played? This game has all the makings of a let down game for Dallas. They anticipated Rodgers, who has screwed them out of some big wins in the past and now they face the guy who couldn't finish the season on a 7-10 team last year.

I hope they do not let off the gas peddle because this game could be huge at the end of the season when we start looking at tie-breakers.

The Jets are going to run the football right at Dallas. They better be ready for it.

It matters when you want to see how your offense performs against a top tier defense.
That's not how coaches approach it, not good coaches. Moore approached it like that, but McCarthy doesn't care how the offense stacks up, and he won't call the game in a way to discover that. One team has a great defense but a questionable backup QB and poor pass blocking line; a smart coach plays it conservative on offense early in the game and if he gets a lead, even moreso. The only way to lose a game like this is for your defense or special teams to crap the bed majorly, or for your offense to provide the other team opportunities.

In the past, we lost games like the Jacksonville game because the offense wanted to "keep the foot on the gas" and try to score on every possession. If you get a lead, you don't go into a shell, but you do play to win the game without helping the other team's offense. Mike has openly said if we want to win a championship, we will play through our defense and protect leads. When we face a team with a high powered offense that can put points on the board, that's when our offense will get a real test. Play to win every game, no matter what the score. That's how you get into the playoffs and maybe get a bye.

What is the all time Cowboys record vs. second or third string QBs?
