Really? If Buffalo could kick a field goal it means everything?

Kinda yeah. How different would those Bills team be looked at today if he makes that kick.

How different would those Bills players feel? How different would Bills fans at the time have felt?

There’s a big difference between him missing that kick and making it.

And Parcells wouldn't have 2 Super Bowl wins.

Hell yeah! Whether we do or we don't, I love the attitude! Or would you rather he say crap like, we ain't going anywhere, Cincy gonna score 50 on us, homerism is a mental disease?
Some of you, yeah....I can see it...losing, quitting and negativity is a way of life. As long as it makes you happy. Me, I suffer from homerism and I need more Cowbell!!

Did Fassel reveal which team plans on losing three of the next four games in order to make room for the Cowboys in the playoffs?

In the past, it has been the Cowboys making room for Washington and the Eagles.

In 2011 the Giants won the division with a 9-7 record before winning the SB that season. It was the Cowboys who moved out of the way to make room in the playoffs for the Giants that season.

The Cowboys lost three of the last four games in 2011, two to the Giants. If the Cowboys had won just one of those games, they would be the division winner, and the Giants eliminated.

In 2012 the Washington Whatevers were 3-6 after 9 games. They went on a seven-game winning streak and ended up 10-6.

They eliminated the Cowboys from the playoffs by beating them twice, including the last game of the season which was basically for the division title.

In 2013 the Eagles started out 3-5 before winning 7 of their last 8 games, including the last game which was against the Cowboys.

The Cowboys were 8-7, the Eagles were 9-6. The Eagles won 24-22, eliminating the Cowboys from the playoffs.
It’s a process.

I would love to think so but I have my doubts. Different era, different schedule, and perhaps greater loss to our key players.

Certainly this team can make the playoffs. When you have 7 teams in it, not that hard. There are 3 teams just above Dallas in the standings and one, Washington, that are 2 ahead of Dallas, and Dallas has already beaten them once, on the road, get to play them at home for the second game.

None of the 3 right above Dallas are all that great, all of them could fall off badly or decide to play for draft picks next year.

Not that it's likely, you understand, just noting things in the NFL have been weird before.

But here's the thing - is there a snowball's chance of winning the SB? Nope. This team doesn't need another playoff loss added to its miserable recent run in the playoffs, doesn't need to get pushed down in the draft order and most of all doesn't need to give Jerry more ammunition to keep staying the course it's been on for the last 30 years...

The Giants didn't make the playoffs in 2001. They were garbage.

yeah but if the defense special teams and run game and we keep getting back more players just fall into place it can happen Nick Foles did it I mean we've seen Steve Berlin play well when aikman was out I mean you can have a team make the playoffs I realize it's a super super long shot and I'm not expecting that it is kinda dumb that they're talking about this Cowboys team making the playoffs but with the second wild card and maybe in a team collapsing here and there down the stress there's too much football left to give up mathematically we're in it and you're right it's really dumb to expect that but they unexpected it it's crazy it can happen..

And again I'm not supporting this narrative I'm just saying they're talking about it 'cause guess what it's the Dallas Cowboys we're in a down year and yet they're still making half the shows on ESPN and content creators are still going wild talking about the Dallas Cowboys they never stop whether it's good bad or indifferent the Dallas Cowboys will make news and they will find a way to get it in so they can up their ratings..

I would be happy if we only won 1 more game, the Eagles. I don't want to go to the playoffs just to be eliminated in the first round.
Look I understand that concept but the tanking is not gonna happen so that's a win win for us if they lose we win if we win we win the whole draft thing is nonsense but yes beating the eagles at least once would be nice and I don't wanna go to the playoffs either but I'm not gonna cry about it you get the draft picks you get and we have had good draft picks at 17 like CD lamb we got Trayvon diggs in the second round we got Micah Parsons at 12 we don't literally need to be that high in the draft to find good players I know everybody really wants that but people are gonna talk about things like this these are scenarios that could possibly happen that's why you're not mathematically out of it and getting all these players back off injury A2 game win streak it gets people thinking it might be possible..

It's so much easier to stomach the losses now that is not a big deal 'cause we get a higher draft pick but I am not gonna be upset when we win games if we went out and lose in the first round of the playoffs I don't care that is how it goes you just play out the season and you worry about your offseason when it comes...
