I'm glad they fired him.
They seemed to always be the team that gave Romo problems with those blitzes...or at least until last week.
He was injured 3 different times vs them:
2012 game 16 (busted ribs),
2013 game 15 (back, followed by season-ending surgery)
2014 game 8 (cracked back, had to miss a game)

So good-riddance

I'm almost happy, whoever they hire couldn't possibly coach a worst defense but I at least want someone good. Rex Ryan?

Rex Ryan has made it clear he isnt taking a coordinator postition, but you might get lucky brother Rob should soon be available.

Only way Rex is DC again next year is if the team he is going to has legitimate shot at a SB or he is being paid twice what the HC is being paid.

Jim Haslett, Commanders mutually agree to part ways

Jim Haslett is no longer part of Jay Gruden's coaching staff in Washington.

The team announced a mutual parting of the ways between Gruden and Haslett, who has been the team's defensive coordinator since 2010.

"Jim and I have had discussions over the last few days and have decided that it's best for everyone that we have a new defensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders," Gruden said in a statement released by the team. "I wish him nothing but the best in the future."

Same thing I was thinking. I'm okay with Dallas facing someone else next season.

I wouldn't doubt that Haslett asked out of his contract, not the other way around. That franchise is a freaking train wreck and having an unprofessional ***hat like Jay Gruden as the HC and an owner like Daniel Snyder is a recipe for disaster and that's what we got this last season. If I were Haslett, I would be begging to be released from my contract.

Sounds like Rex either wants to be a HC for the Falcons or he's going to take a position at ESPN.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Wade take the DC position at Washington, although that may be a hard sell for the fans.

I'll pass. I wonder what the Niners defensive coaches are up to now that Harbaugh has gone back to college.

Another stupid move by the Commanders.

How do you figure firing Jim Haslett was a stupid move? What about his 29th ranked yardage and 30th ranked in points defense for the last five years makes you believe he should've been extended?

I think Vic Fangio will interview for the vacancy eventually, Whoever the new coach is, they would be a fool to let go of that defensive staff.
