There has to be change. Schwartz is young, was a head coach before and had the Bills defense playing great the year before Rex came in and fired him. I bet he could find a way to get more pressure with these talented pass rushers.

With a competent offense this defense is just fine. We obviously could use an upgrade at CB, and getting some more turnovers. I have no problem with Marinelli. He's done his part. The offensive has failed this team and that's on Garrett and Co.

And like others have said. No way do I want that ****** bag as our defensive coordinator. He is dirty and his teams are not disciplined.

Why does there have to be change? This was a top 10 ranked defense this year. Give them an offense that doesn't go 3 and out every other drive and they won't fade in the 4th quarter. I'm not a huge fan of rods style but he's done a damn good job.

Top 10 ranked defense and that's with Scandrick out. It's time to invest in this defense like we invested in the offense draftwise. I can see Marinelli with a top 3 defense if we keep shoring up that defense.

Fair post.

Hard to judge the defense when they are expected to hold literally every opponent under whatever number of FGs Bailey can kick.

I dont hang that on Rod. the safeties have sucked and havent been a priority since the RW debacle. Its been trash since 2003 really, FO owns this

Look at Kiffin and Marinelli's defense in Tampa and Chicago. Safety was never a priority at those places either. They would mostly wait until the 3rd-6th rounds to draft a safety, never pick up any big FA safeties and if they found a productive safety in their scheme and he became a FA, they would freely let that player sign with another team.

I agree, it's not been a priority here either before Rod has come along. But, maybe we wake up to this nonsense and maybe Rod pulls the 'I've got X amount of years experience doing this and I'm only going to do it my way.' If that is the scenario...then he needs to go. The game is passing him by.

Again *if* that's the case.

Henderson was Ryan's guy, so not sure about that.

Coaches are often stubbornly loyal to other coaches. Especially their assistants. I can understand it to a degree, but Henderson's work has not shown up in any way, shape or form since he's been here. And the fact that we have 2 CB interceptions on the year from 2 players that we just got here 2 weeks ago is completely unacceptable.

Very few will get it......They'll have to look it up;)

I have relatives that live in Meridian so I hear their constant yammering about all things Boise State. More than I care for.

The defense is not the Problem. I still can't believe there are people who truly think the defense is the problem

Schwartz as in the clown who used to coach the dirty, classless Lions? Not only no, but h e double sticks no. I despise that guy.

His defenses were undiscipled also. No!
That's the last thing we need - an undiscipled defense.

Marinelli's our best coach. There's no point in getting rid of one of the best defensive coordinators in the league just to replace him with Jim Schwartz. The defense would've looked a lot different with a competent offense.

More offensive production (i.e. points and snaps) equals less opportunities for the opposing offense to hit a big play for the win.

More offensive production also puts the presure on opposing offenses, forcing OCs to take more risks, which leads to more opportunities for turnovers for Dallas' defense.

In other words, get Dez and Romo back on the field and you'll improve the defense as well.

Dallas is 31st in the NFL in points per game scored. Only the 49ers are worse.
