Oh Dak has had an optimal cast of talent around him for his career and everyone knows it.

Our offense is way better then the 9ers.

On paper, we have more talent, but that didn't translate this year and they have a better OL than we do. That said, Dak should have been able to do much better while the games were still winnable. He put together a lot of gaudy stats this year in garbage time against defenses focused on keeping everything in bounds and the clock running

. You put Phillip Rivers behind this OL and with the cast of skill position players we have...........he would do much better than 8 wins,

Sure, 49ers finished 4-12 without him last year.

They’d been a good defense for a few years and had the pieces there. Just needed aQB and why they went out in FA and landed him. It’s turned their franchise around.

People kept saying this, then Dak threw for almost 5,000 yards and they went 8-8. So whatever Dak's problem is, it's not that he doesn't put up raw numbers.

Is anyone impressed with Jimmy Garapollo? To me all the credit goes to Shanahan.
The man attempted 8 passes. Imagine what f Dak made the SB doing that? He would have been roasted,Handsome Jimmy gets a pass for being mediocre. He is overpaid, he had 4 good games in NE and is the savior in SF. The man is a bus driver so far in his career.
To me the real takeaway is coaching matters more than almost anything in this league.
The Niners literally ran the same play 20 times like the Rams did to us last year in the divisional round.

He’s a bus driver and a total Jag. He has the lowest passing yds in the league before YAC.. Even his TE has the highest yds in the league after the catch...

Stats can be misleading. His numbers weren’t as great against the better teams.

We averaged about 35 points a game in our wins and 15 points a game in our losses.

And we never overcame a 7 point or more deficit.

Much of that yardage was in an attempt to come back since we were behind and running game was stifled as teams focused on stopping Zeke and test if Dak could beat them.

Yes coaching makes a difference but Dak still couldnt do what Jimmy G has done. Dak is a streaky QB who goes cold for long periods of time and thats not good. Just because Jimmy only throws 8 passes doesnt mean he cant step up and win games with his arm. He is the perfect fit for that running team. Dak is too inconsistent to be asked to hand the ball off a lot and then complete a pass for a 3rd down. Dak needs 2 throws to have a better chance at completing one for a first down.

Jimmy G had 3 games where he threw for over 300 yds this year (2x against Arizona and against NO in that shootout). I remember Dak being skewered when he wasn't throwing for over 300 yds.

How 'bout it. They can have him. After all, it's KS with the top rated offense.

I am by no means a Dak apologist.. But why don't Cowboys fans think this way about Dak? All this previous off season I was saying don't pay Dak a penny more than Foles. Obviously that wont happen anymore.
Truth of the matter Jimmy G is average, definitely not an elite QB but some how it is ok if he gets top 5 money. It's ok if the team has to minimize he weaknesses.

Honestly I think same about Lamar Jackson too.
We actually don’t know how good Dak can be because unlike Lamar and Jimmy, Dak hasn’t had a good HC yet.

Not everyone is going to have Mahomes. I detest the idea of paying Dak 35 million but I don't trust the FO to find another guy. If it was me I would bring my coaching staff and all the scouts into a room and say go out and find me a cheaper option:
Can you go out and upgrade the rest of the team? Bring me beef in the middle of the line, a safety who can cover, more Corners, more depth and LB.
Get a Zeke clone who can spell him during a game.

I hate saying this, but that is what you have to love about the Niners, they are so good fundamentally and have an amazing defense that they are ok with us calling out Jimmy. They have a complete team. They may not win the SB as its one game and anything can happen. You give Mahomes and inch and he will burn you.

When you run the ball 42 times for 285 yards what does a QB need to do? Especially when the defense is playing well. The fact a quarterback isn't needed doesn't translate into him not being any good. He didn't look too bad in the game against the Saints. When they needed him to pass.

It did. When Jimmy G has time he’s pretty good, but get pressure anywhere around him and he closes his eyes and chucks it. Mahomes looks to make plays. Jimmy G prays he doesn’t get killed.

Threw for 4000 yards 69.1% and 8.4 YPA, and a 102 rating for the season, guys a stud at QB and he will be back in the SB
