These two would never let players say anything via internet or twitter etc. about the team. Micah “Big Mouth” Parsons would be shut down or sat down.
spot on.No one can control what players say on social media. With a salary cap you can’t just threaten to cut players or bench them to prevent them from free speech. It’s a lot different these days.
Yep. BB used to be able to keep his guys under control through a culture he built with an older group of vets that were able to basically set the tone and expectations of the players in that locker room. Do Your Job wasn't just a saying it was almost cult-like mantra there. Now that the old guard is gone you saw things start to fall apart around him there. Oh, and Tom Brady leaving. No one can control what players say on social media. With a salary cap you can’t just threaten to cut players or bench them to prevent them from free speech and expressing themselves online. It’s a lot different these days.
Yeah, Jimmy only allowed the White House to operate that caused the demise of several players. These two would never let players say anything via internet or twitter etc. about the team. Micah “Big Mouth” Parsons would be shut down or sat down.
Jimmy would send messages. No need to cut an Emmitt Smith or a Troy Aikman, or even Michael Irvin. But if you're a fringe player, and you're fumbling, constantly missing assignments, committing penalties, or sleeping in meetings.........you're sacrificed for the others doing the same, to see. An accountability message.Jimmy was a bully to weaker players. He cut Curvin Richards but do you honestly think he would have cut Emmitt Smith? Jimmy had different rules for different players and would today, if he were coaching anywhere.
yeah but people are saying they want Jimmy to coach here, wrong era, HE would go before they went!! lolNo one can control what players say on social media. They were just having a little fun back then!Tom Landry - let Hollywood Henderson do drugs on sideline and ignored off field crimes.
Bill Parcells - let Lawrence Taylor do drugs on sideline and ignore off field crimes.
Jimmy Johnson - let players have a drug and prostitute rape clubhouse that was raided buy the police.
Cowboy fans ...... man those coaches were strict guys that would not let players get away with anything.
Todays coaches - lets players say mean and dumb stuff on internet.
Cowboy fans - these coaches are weak and have no control over players.
Rape? Seems maybe too lenient.Tom Landry - let Hollywood Henderson do drugs on sideline and ignored off field crimes.
Bill Parcells - let Lawrence Taylor do drugs on sideline and ignore off field crimes.

Yes they would. These two would never let players say anything via internet or twitter etc. about the team. Micah “Big Mouth” Parsons would be shut down or sat down.
Every team has different rules for different players. You aren’t benching your QB for being late to a meeting but you might a player you have a solid replacement for. That’s just the way most things in life worksJimmy was a bully to weaker players. He cut Curvin Richards but do you honestly think he would have cut Emmitt Smith? There is no protection for “free speech” or the 1st amendment if representing the business or in this case the Cowboys. Teams can absolutely control the messaging on social media if they chose to.No one can control what players say on social media. With a salary cap you can’t just threaten to cut players or bench them to prevent them from free speech and expressing themselves online. It’s a lot different these days.
I agree and I will not argue against the results Jimmy got. I was just saying that Jimmy would have different rules for Parsons which means he would still be on twitter.Every team has different rules for different players. Like Bill Parcells totally controlled LT back in the day...hmmmThese two would never let players say anything via internet or twitter etc. about the team. Micah “Big Mouth” Parsons would be shut down or sat down.
