Jimmy Johnson used to say you can't turn it on and off...

No one knows how to prepare a team for the playoffs like Jimmy Johnson. Whenever he was criticized for keeping the team on a tight leash, he would say that you can't turn it on and off and you have to keep it going.

In looking at the pathetic way the Cowboys lost their playoff game as the #1 seed, it is clear that the team was out of sync and had a lot of rust that comes from not playing a meaningful game in 3 weeks. Missed tackles, dropped passes, stupid penalties, poor execution are all indications of a team that hasn't played in a few weeks. Jusk ask the Colts. They are masters at this.

When a team is unprepared and lacks the focus and intensity for playoff football, all of it falls on the head coach. I think Wade's biggest mistake was telling the players to take 3 days off and not think about football at all. It clearly showed on Sunday afternoon because their heads were not into the game.

Jimmy Johnson would have never done this. In the future, it may be better not to have a bye the first week or else we are going to see a repeat of what happened against the Giants as long as Wade is coaching this team.

Hey if the players execute what was given to them yesterday we easily win that game.

Not Wades fault.

Does he need to go through tackling drills with Anthony Henry?

Catching Drills with Patrick Crayton?

Opportunities were there.

We've had "better" coaches in the past who couldn't do a better job than Wade.

The problem yesterday was execution. My finger points at the players.

Not even the great Jimster could have overcame the crap they were doing. Sorry.

You unknowingly proved my point even further. As I said, poor execution all the way around goes back to being unprepared for the game. When an ENTIRE team is unprepared, that falls completely on the head coach.

And if you think Jimmy Johnson couldn't win a playoff game with the talent the Cowboys have, you are seriously deluded. With the Jimster, that "crap" never would have happened!!

With the talent we have we should have won even yesterday.

The plays were there to be executed. Open your eyes.

Guys just didn't execute them. I guess Jimmy would have made them do it though.

Not even Bill Parcells could ever get these guys to play as well as Wade has.

Quit crying for Jimmy. Jimmy's teams were on an entire different level.

Yes the players did not execute but Wade's game plan was absolutely horrible! Never seen a more obviously wrong game plan!

Yeah thats what people usually say about game plans when you lose.

But if you watched the damn game like I did you would see there were several opportunities to win that game and the players just couldn't get it done.

I dont blame Wade for putting them in a position to succeed and them not doing it.

He took them to the water. They just didnt drink.

Well defend Wade and the staff all you want but they did not prepare the team and they did not have a good game plan. Maybe the players did not execute becuase they were not used to playing that style of game. Maybe on offensive line used to 8-10 play drives was exhausted when the play calling led to to LONG drives almost in a row. Look I could go on and on, yes they could have won yesterday with the play calling as it was but the coaches sure did make it hard on them and that combined with a lack of execution was deadly.

If he needs to hold their hand that much then this team will never get where it wants to go.

Bill Parcells held their hands to much and they played with a foot up their *** for 4 seasons.

This year the foot was removed from their *** and they played much much better.

Yesterday they just messed up on fundamental things.

They were put in a position to win. Thats what coaches do.

If the plays that were available were executed then we win. duh.

It is clear that you have no clue what it is a head coach is supposed to do when coaching a team, especially for the playoffs.

You just keep proving my point over and over with your lack of execution argument.

You just need to OPEN YOUR MIND!!!

If just a handful of players didn't execute, your argument would be more valid. But when an ENTIRE TEAM doesn't execute, that falls squarely on the head coach and his staff. Offense, defense, and special teams failed to execute.

You need to quit "cryin" about the players and come up with a better argument instead of just proving mine over and over although I appreciate it. ;)

And they still end up losing the first playoff game they get in! Both style's Wade and Bill's are too much to the extreme IMO. They need something inbetween. Bill didn't seem to know when to lay off and Wade apparently doesn't know when to throttle down on them. Jimmy was a master at both and so is Belichick now.

Open my mind so I can sound moronic like you?

Maybe instead of lining patrick crayton up at receiver we can put Wade at receiver. That way if Wade drops a pass we can blame him.

Sorry but I dont blame him for yesterday. The opportunities were there. Its pretty damn obvious too.

No matter who was on the sidelines Patrick Crayton is going to drop that ball.

Anthony Henry was going to miss that tackle. ect.

This same crap happened under Bill freaking Parcells. Thats why your point about it being coaching is stupid.

If Parcells couldn't get it completely fixed than just about no one can.

watch the game again..CATCH17 has it right man. There were alot of dropped passes, wrong routes ran, penalties, and just plain poor execution that cost them the game, none of which had anything to do with Wade's game plan.

No I think the players made it harder than it should have been because I saw the opportunities right in front of them to succeed and they failed.

Whenever someone resorts to name calling and putting a person down, you know you are dealing with an inferior intellect that has just lost an argument but cannot admit it.

That's very sad. ;)
