jimmy johnson

Those Cowboy teams were as much as family as they were teams. Jimmy should have been there IMO unless he has a real good reason that we don't know about and that is entirely possible.

Bottom line, if he was able to attend, IMO, he really should have. It's not the end of the world though, Irvin and Jimmy have a LOOOOOng history together that dates back to "the U."

If it were one of my 'boys', I'd be there. Different strokes.......

Wow.

Some posters are making pretty big presumptions about Johnson just because he didn't show up.

Maybe he was sick?

Maybe he had an important family engagement?

Maybe he wanted he wanted the attention to be on Irvin and didn't want to revisit a Johnson-Jones split recollection since Jones was going to be there?

If Irvin wasn't bothered by it, why should you be?
You would have at least thought Bill Parcells would have covered his not being there with a lame excuse to pay him back.:D

funny, the HOF show didn't even mention his absence, and you know how the Mediots love to stir things up

Outside of a family emergency there is no excuse. That reunion could have been moved- this day was marked back in Feb- LOTS of time. If not moved, Jimmy just goes for this one day- its more then warranted. He just did not want to go- simple as that.

Who knows, I'm sure he has his reasons, even if we don't understand them. Who knows, maybe he just didn't want anyone to see him cry.

I agree Sarge. I understand Jimmy might have his reasons for not being there, but that does not mean he gets a pass for not showing up. It might not be important to him.....but wouldn't it be important to Michael? The reason Jimmy should show up is not that the ceremony is important to him....but that the ceremony is important to the player.

Johnson should have been there....period.

Dear Mr. Ungrateful,

Someone once stated a man's character can be measured by how he treats those that cannot be a benefit to him.

Jimmy owes Aikman, Irvin, Jerry, NFL, and fans to show up and be a part of the ceremony.

His security and comfort in life was made through these men laying it out on the field for him.

Jimmy you are classless and I do not care what your reasons may be for not attending these ceremonies.

signed,

Cowboy Nation (Anyone agree?)

Agreed.... but... there is a flip side to that coin.... they all needed each other.

He should've been there he has more history with Michael than the rest of them. I think it was selfish of him not to be there and yeah he probably called him but he still should've been in Canton

who bleepin cares.....i know i don't.

and if mike doesn't care, why are you people losing sleep, getting your blood pressure up, or getting angry over nothing.

this is between mike and jimmy.

but if you guys want to keep posting and getting angry for nothing, more power to you.

If Irvin and Aikman don't have a problem with it,wich they don't seem to,then no one else should be bothered by it.

who the hell does this man think he is not to show up to the men who made it possible for him to fish?
The man who put them together which is what made it possible for them to be HOFers.
I'm sure if he wasn't there they knew beforehand and were cool with it.

Yeah, the hell with Jimmy Johnson, what did he ever do for us anyway?

Wasn't Jimmy at the Triplets Ring of Honor induction? That was on a Monday night, so not a FOX game he would have to be at. If he showed up for that, he must not have issue with any of them including Jerry anymore. Seems odd he didn't go to either HOF induction though.

We have Cowboys fans who say they will not attend the Hall of Fame until _________ is inducted. Maybe Jimmy has a feeling about something there as well? I don't know that he attended Marino's induction either. His reasons are his own. I don't think it doesn't mean he doesn't have a deep and abiding affection for Troy and Michael.

I believe Troy mentioned that he met with Jimmy prior to the HOF induction down in Florida. So whatever his reasons, Troy and Jimmy cool. I would assume since he has an even longer relationship with Irvin, that Mike and Jimmy are cool, too.

Since they're cool, I'm cool, too.

None of us knows that the relationship between Johnson and Irvin is.

Irvin was VERY complimentary about Jimmy...KNOWING that he wasn't there. So clearly, it wasn't an issue for Irvin. Why should it be for us?

Because there ALWAYS has to be something wrong and sinister going on.
