There is no monkey. JJ had zero clue how to run an organization for years.

Jerry? Is that you?

The "legend grows" ?

No, the evidence grows. Jimmy's rosters won 3 Super Bowls. Jerry's rosters have been absent from the NFC Championship game for 23 years.

But hey, # 1 franchise value in sports, so that's cool.

Jerry and Jimmy both worked to get that roster going in the 90s. It's not like Jimmy built a powerhouse in Miami.

And teams having a marketing brand as good as the Cowboys is great for the very sport you watch every weekend/weekday from September to February.

Yea, each year that goes by proves that Jerry had less to do with building the 90's super bowl team than he cares to admit......it was 100% Jimmy.

The champion HC who coached 24 years before the Cowboys or the oil guy.. that's a tough one!! I'm sure Jerry's input when it came to football operations was invaluable.

Granted, Jones loves getting the spotlight in these unending ‘He did/She did’ tic-for-tac’s. He is a natural attention craver. I am not so sure Johnson feels the same way. Maybe he would be more interested if it was a ‘Who caught the biggest fish?’ story...

Huge Jimmy fan here.

But Jimmy and Jerry built the cap-less 90s Cowboys champions
Jimmy had some the best team of assistant coaches...paid for by Jerry...in NFL history
And the Cowboys DID win a Super Bowl without Jimmy coaching. “His players” or not, they did it without him coaching. And Jimmy never won an NFL title anywhere else.

Again, Im a huge Jimmy fan. But the legend is sometimes a bit much

His legend? That was one of the greatest teams in the history of the NFL. On every team in this league the HC gets credit for such things. Not here. We have to include the ding bat owner who hasn't proven a dam thing on the football field since Jimmy left. Now all we hear about is how Jerrys money pre cap made it happen. LOL Completely undermining quality coaching and preparation. Oddly enough that's exactly what Jerrys been doing since Jimmy left.

It's weird, I don't hear anyone talking about what an amazing job Jeffrie Lurie or Robert Kraft are doing right now. I'm sure they have both been intricate parts though.

Mainly referring to the fact that we did actually win one after Jimmy left. So with a different coach.
So if we go by what you just said, the HC should get credit...so Jimmy should not get so much credit for that 3rd title since he was not the HC.
Plus, in the non cap era, the owners williness to outspend others was a big deal.

Like I said though, I was and am a Jimmy fan.
Dont really wish to take credit from him

LOL after they already lost and thenJerry went out and signed his super free agent. If you can’t beatem joinem. Again undermining coaching, development and the draft. You can give him credit all you want. He’s proven over time how bad he sucks!

I give Switzer credit for winning with Jimmy's team. As he himself said, he could have lost with that team too. lol

3 factors in the 94 NFC championship loss:
1. Loss of players - Norton in particular
2. 49ers were a very good team, if Dallas was the best, they were 2nd
3. Switzer wasn't the disciplinarian that Jimmy was - after the first turnover in the game, Jimmy would have lit up the team and likely that would have been the only turnover, but Switzer did nothing, and it just snowballed from there.

Jimmy could have lost the game, but I doubt he would have...
