I still see it as being mad at Bill...yet being ok with norm.

You can word it helping, actually calling or dominating if you want.

It is still double sided talk to me.

However...I guess if they are not from New York you have no reason to worry. Because I know you don't have such a wait and see and it will be ok attitude with some of the New York (including Buffalo) players and coaches.

You bring up Mumbles as a person that looked bad at cleveland and came out ok...but then again I don't recall Bill struggling at two separate stops and then going on before having a good run.

OK Brain who's the "knock-out" hire that Jerry is suppose to sign?

Maybe Mumbles didn't struggle in stop #2 because there was enough talent on that NE team to allow him to succeed?

You know Brain sometimes talent does make a difference. ;)

Zimmer also was not exactly a trail blazer concerning having an attacking, heavy sacks and turn over stats game plan prior to bill either...would you agree with that?

I think Zimmer did an amazing job with the 2003 defense... just amazing.

And then "Mr. Anti-blitz" took over and we haven't been aggressive since.

I'll send you some dvd's of the games from 2003 so you can see the difference yourself Brain. ;)

...Norv. Formal announcement early next week. :(

It sounds to me like someone in the organization has purposely leaked the info since the beat writers are now predicting it.

I don't mean to be a doom and gloomer but Norv getting another shot as a HC just to give Jason Garrett an apprenticeship is one of the most nonsensical moves Jerry has made with this franchise.
I agree 150%, basically we are throwing away a year. Jerry needs to be replace if he does this.

Really...So are you saying we had much more sacks and INTs in 2003 than all the other years?

Since I take it you are talking about mr anti-blitz...which I find highly amusing as before Bill came here they (zimmer and campo) tried to do that but pulled back because they were getting 200+ yard rushers smashing through the D.

Futhermore...according to your takes...Zimmer did not do a great job...Remember Bill DOMINATED the DC and OC.

So It must have been bill that turned a 5-11 team into a 10-6 team which included the defense.

Can't really have it both ways.

Either he dominated the OC and DC or he did not.

There goes the defense.

2 offensive gurus on offense, that's great. Jones has learned absolutely nothing.

Wonder who Jones is going to draft this year?

I am just waiting for him to hire Campo and we can have the full monty feel good jerry jones reunion tour.

well, since we're looking at Jerry the idiot dunce, I'd expect either of these scenarios:

Trade the pick for a receiver

or

trade down for a quarterback who can't play

or

some mutated combo of the previous two options

Sorry about that.

I have just put in a large order of valium and tums...you want me to order some for you as well. ;)

I wonder what the excuses the Norvites will have when Norv completes the hat tricks for failures as a HC.

I think it's pretty apparent that for whatever reason Bill Parcels stopped allowing this defense to be aggressive sometime late in the 2003-- and it hasn't been aggressive ever since.

In case you forgot we had the #1 rated defense in 2003... Picks and sacks aren't and end-all Brain.

I think you can have it both ways when you are looking at a span of 4 years. What happens in year 1 may not be happening in year 4.

We're going to need a years worth at least. That will finally give me a reason to clean out my garage for extra storage room.

I say we hire a young and upcoming mind like Garrett, give him a mentor like Norv the offensive guru....

Then, do something that hasn't been done sine aroung 1969...Make Tony a Unitas.

Who knows what was Unitas's greatest strength (trick question because its my opinion). Calling his own plays.

Roger always wanted to, but Tom wouldn't have it. Its something that hasn't been done in years, heck I could start a whole thread on it.

Anyhow, love Norv to death, but I'd rather Phillips (Rivera or a Ryan kid is my number #1 choice, but no interveiws). Defense is what we need, Garrett and Romo can handle the "O".

Landry brought back the shoygun and it caught the league off guard. Romo calling his own plays, pure genious.

We were not aggressive before Bill.

The one time we tried to be aggressive prior to bill we were letting 200+ yard rushers kill our D and we QUICKLY went back to the bend don't break defense.

I don't know where you saw an aggressive defense with zimmer as DC prior to bill.

neither is that #1 ranking...

Go check your dvd's

Come back and tell me the quarterbacks and running backs we played.

Then tell me how this team played when willie blade fell off and teams realized they could max protect and pick on edwards.

Dont believe me, rewatch the dolphins and Pats games.

Max protect, isolate a wr on edwards and go to town.

Blades play fell of dramatically as did ekubans and the team did not play as well.

That #1 ranking you keep flashing didnt win us anything either. That was a flawed team that hid its warts by playing...

hmm lets see here
Tim hassleback
AAron Brooks
Jessie Palmer
Patrick ramsey without their starting running back
joey harrington
vinny testaverde
doug johnson

Do you need more? We were fortunate to play some teams with injuries or just poor offenses. The eagles, dolphins and panthers kicked our butt.

How we won that home game against the panthers is crazy. That was probably the best win in parcells time here. The stadium was awesome that day.

I would rip off his pocket protector and beat him with it...HOWEVER...he has much more money than I so he would just hire a hit man to take me out.
