JJT: Wade Phillips struggling as Cowboys' defensive coordinator

Yep this read hurts...hopefully everyone will read this and stop posting threads about how Romo will never win a super bowl. With a Defense playing like this even Tom Brady wouldn't be able to take this team to the super bowl let alone the playoffs.

I was wondering how long it was going to take for Jerry diggin for gold to appear.

Can we just say its the players?

When we had to split the field for Quincy Carter to manage the game...

We bashed him and said he wasnt talented enough or smart enough to play the whole field.

Why cant the same logic apply to these defensive players?

How many times have we see players confused here? Pointing fingers when a big play is made.....confusion lining up before the snap?

Scandrick even stated that it humbled him and he has to listen to the coaches more.....he thought he knew everything and he didnt.

There has to be players on defense that make sure everyone knows there assignments. But it comes down to the individual players.....if a blitz is callled the DB's should know there are only so many options that WR can run.

Its up to the players to know the situation and what the keys are and then adapt to defend it......

Like Romo decisions to throw a pass........defensive players must also know that their decisions are just important.........

you hit the nail on the head right there; to a degree your right about the players, either they are lazy or stubborn or dont want to learn but like players have said in the past, the coaches put us in position to win

the head coach has to set the field up in practices for anything that could happen

to a degree i think that is lacking; case in point, the offense didnt do very much last year, i think we all agree with that; but this year, the offensive line is improved, the running is improved and jason garrett is doing his job because the offense has scored above 30 points in the first 2 games;

the last team they played was a very good defense, but the cowboys still scored above 30 points, and the cowboys didnt get any turnovers to help in field advantage;

but is the defense doing their part? No!
so what is your response to that? and your still agreeing with what wade said; oh, the blitz packages that i ran in the first game in tampa bay, that was my fault because i didnt run the blitz packages enough in preseason because i didnt want to get players hurt? Is that getting your defensive players ready to play the game? The special teams have improved along with the offense, why hasnt the defense? Didnt Garrett have his offensive players play better from last year, sure some mistakes were made by 2nd year bennett but the cowboys still scored above 30 points, but what has the defense done?

Sometimes, eliminating the middle man makes everything simpler, which is why Phillips is running all of the meetings and making all of the calls on game day.

I think we had a top 10 defense a few of those years.Actually with Campo as the D co we did,and one year with Zimmer.Im going to check it on NFL.com now.

well i will go on record and say i thought that hamlin did a very decent job his first year; but thats what is said about hamlin, his last year he always steps it up and plays for a contract, but after that ken hamlin goes soft and plays badly

so to a degree i was wrong about him; and yes i am right about some players and wrong about some; and it wont be the last time either;

but when i am wrong, i will admit it;
