Joan Rivers dead at 81

Very sad to hear.

First became aware of her through the movie "Rabbit Test".

I tried to read her book & it was just too vulgar. I thought it might be funny but..

Sorry to hear this.

Death is sad and inevitable.

That being said, I found that lady annoying, obnoxious, and not the least bit funny.

Met her a few times she was one funny woman very quick. She was one of the last people you wanted to get into an insult battle with.

I love how people are assuming there was medical negligence in this case.

Anytime you go under the knife especially at that age risks are involved.

Prayers do go out to the family during this difficult time though.

Went under the knife one too many times I guess. Very very sad for her family and friends.

She was a bit harsh at times, but I grew up watching her and more recently her daughter Melissa. May Joan rest in peace.

She was quick and funny. She surely didn't give a damn about anyone's opinion on her.

Not a fan of her recent stuff on E! and the reality TV stuff with her daughter, but she was a pioneer and paved the way for female comics. I'm guessing a lot of people don't remember her as a guest host for Carson and getting her own late night show back in the 80s.

Always loved hearing her on Stern. She was not afraid to say what was on her mind and pulled no punches. She will be missed.

Was never really a fan of hers either but I will say she impressed me on Celebrity Apprentice(don't laugh). She had a quick wit, determined and paved a road for herself and other women in a tough comedic profession. She never danced around subjects, she said what she thought...I can respect that.

I respect her, but I don't like her style. May she RIP

Since her passing I realize I have underestimated what a big star she was. I just never knew.

And Robin Williams too who I adored. His death still gets to me. :(
