Her husband Edgar committed suicide years ago. In an interview she said people come up to her and ask if she ever got over the heartbreak of that. She said she was never heartbroken over it she was angry as hell at him for doing such a thing. She said when she dies and sees him again she's going to kill him. lol

I read something interesting about this that may have some correlation to Robin Williams. Her husband had serious heart surgery & suffered from depression afterward. Robin the same.

I did not know that one of the side effects of major heart surgery is depression. Perhaps the doctor on here can verify or dispute that if he sees this.

I'm certainly no expert on the subject but my guess is the problems Robin Williams had with alcohol led to his depression and suicide. There's a connection between substance abuse and suicide. I think Williams relapsing after 2 decades of sobriety pushed him over the edge but no one will ever really know because he didn't leave a suicide note. One report speculated he killed himself over financial trouble.

The financial thing was not true. He had tons! His manager/agent said that was not true.

The way he ended it makes me sad. Loved his work and a great guy on top of that.

They'll be plenty more things written that aren't true the tabloids feast on celebrity deaths.

He was having to take non-leading roles, had a couple of expensive alimonies, trouble selling a ranch for two years. What seemed to be the straw that broke the back was coming down with Parkinsons. Makes sense to me...if you are fighting several things, it's really going to drag you down.

We'll never know. As KJJ said he left no note or if he did the family did not say so.

He always had a touch of sadness about him to me. Behind the crazy zany Robin at times he looked so sad. I'll miss him.

One of my uncles had a heart attack in his 30's. Then he had diabetes. Year later in retirement, he developed prostate cancer. What made it the thing that killed him was the radiation treatment had to be limited because it weakened his already compromised heart, but it was not enough to fight the cancer. :(

Later when I read about people that live to be 100 and older don't have a major disease hit until late in life. Then they don't have multiple aliments hit them like my uncle. ( See http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...e-who-were-born-in-the-19th-century/15122367/ )

So whatever was going on with Robin Williams, I suspect several things were getting to him (I can relate.)

I'll work this in back to Joan Rivers - she was very healthy AFAIK up to the point she had her surgery - that make her demise tragic.

Thats scary. You go under for surgery expecting to wake up and then dont. Thats a reason I havent had my wisdom teeth pulled. When the dentist told me I had to be knocked out for it, I said one moment, I will be right back. Yeah, I havent been back.

RIP.

I am not going to pretend I was a fan of hers and she was amazing blah blah. But, still sad for her family and friends.

Yea you absolutely have to feel sorry for her daughter & grandson. Only child & all. And she lost her father so tragically. Joan did a good job raising that girl. You never hear about Melissa going nuts with drugs or drink.

Anytime you have to undergo any type of surgery something could go wrong. People have died from liposuction. I read where a guy who was to undergo a simple surgical procedure got mixed up with a guy who was to undergo surgery for testicular cancer. The doctor came in after performing the surgery and told him he had some good news and bad news for him.

The guy wanted the bad news first and the doctor told him he got him mixed up with a guy who had testicular cancer and that he cut off his testicals. The guy said then what the hell is the good news? The doctor told him the good news was he ran some tests on his testicals and that they were cancer free.
