Joe Horn was just interviewed on the Michael Irvin Show on 103.3 FM.

Interesting interview... he seemed pretty pumped about the possibility of coming to Dallas, and says he heard the rumors too... but confirmed that no one from the Cowboys organization has talked to him.

He also said he didn't think that the Cowboys needed him to win a Superbowl, and said he just wanted to come along for the ride and get a ring.

He did say he thought he'd be a help to T.O. by relieving some of his pressure.

In a funny moment during the interview, he was golfing at the same time during the phone interview and chipped his ball into a water hazard. It was funny.

If I were Joe Horn I'd be pumped up too.
To go from a so-so WR to the premier pro team in the world would be a huge step.

Jerra choosing that pouty, loud-mouthed Horn would be a sign of desperation.

If Glenn returns, no thanks.

But if Glenn doesn't return for whatever reason, I'd be okay with bringing in Horn.

Joe Horn: Cowboys haven't called

Falcons receiver Joe Horn said today that the Cowboys have not contacted his agent, but the 36-year-old made it clear he wants to hook on with a team that has a chance to win a championship.

"My agent hasn't heard from Dallas, and I don't know if [Falcons general manager Thomas] Dimitroff has heard from Dallas," Horn said during an interview with ESPN-FM 103.3. "But I would be in awe to play with an organization like that because I know that they're at that next step of winning a Super Bowl.

"To come there and be on the other side of T.O. would be fabulous, but right now, that hasn't happened. No conversations have been made and all that is speculation."

Horn was realistic and said "asking for a draft pick for a 36-year-old at my salary is kind of hard." But Horn also knows the Falcons want to go with younger players. He said he'd rather go somewhere else because Horn believes he can still start in the NFL.

Horn broke into the league in 1996 with Kansas City. His best years came with New Orleans where he had at least 1,200 receiving yards from 2000 to 2002 and again in 2004. He's got 58 career touchdown catches.

If Glenn is a Cowboy in '08, I don't want Horn.

If Glenn is NOT a Cowboy in '08, I'd be fine with bringing in Horn.

Hope that cleared it up...

Again.....................Makes no sense. What is Horn gonna do besides waste a year learning the offense? He's not coming in for chump change. If Jerry still desires that "wow" player, I can guarantee you it isn't Horn. Horn has declined in production. There's a reason KC got rid of him and he goes to the Aint's. He's a follower, not a leader and probably couldn't muster up enough knowledge to help out the younger WR's.

We've got three Horn-level receivers right now. What's he bring to the table?

We don't need to be grasping at straws. We're past that. Thank God.

Okay, I thought you meant it literally made no sense... you just disagree with what I said.

"What is Horn gonna do", you asked. I believe he'd be an upgrade somewhere, whether at #2 (unlikely), #3, or #4 WR. No, he's no longer a Pro Bowl-caliber WR. But I have a hard time believing that a healthy Joe Horn in 2008 wouldn't be better than either Sam Hurd, Miles Austin, or Isaiah Stanback.

We wouldn't have to cut a valuable youngster to make room for him... at worst, we'd have to put someone like Jefferson or Amendola on the practice squad. Which is fine.

There would still be room for Crayton, Hurd, Austin, and Stanback on the 53 man roster.

He didn't fit in with the pitiful Falcons last year, but he was very solid in 2006 with the Saints... and the Saints had a high-powered offense like the Cowboys have.

If he had stayed healthy all year, he was on pace for 59 catches, 1086 yards, and 6 TDs in 2006. Not too shabby. You sure we have 3 of those WRs on our roster?

If we brought him in, he'd have to earn a spot in camp anyways. So what's the harm in taking a look-see?

(Remember, this is all contingent on Terry Glenn NOT returning...)
