Video: Joe Milton - All-22 Film Review

This is not me saying he is a future all-pro but if you can’t see even a sliver of potential thanks for watching and move on.
I don’t understand why some fans are negative about this guy or this move. Anyone who can’t watch the film and see the potential is beyond me. Is he going to be QB1 this season and be all pro? No, definitely not, unless something extremely bizarre happens. Can he be a viable backup and learn on the job and hopefully transition to QB1 in 2 or 3 years? Very possible

If not then we spent a 5th round pick on a developmental player that didn’t develop. It happens every year on this team. The fact we’re trying to develop a QB should not be an issue.

thanks @thunderpimp91 definitely have come a long way into this Journey to the NFL. All of the content creation, graphics design and presentation is tweaked constantly to attempt to give the viewer the best experience.

I think I have the analysis knowledge as I worked at PFF but it’s doing it on screen and getting it all out there to articulate what i’m trying to get across has been a learning experience.

I’ll get better, and hoping by the season the videos have gotten to a place where zoners enjoy them much more. Thank you brother.
Keep the videos coming bro. Your video popped up on my YouTube feed independently. So I was fairly surprised someone from the zone made it. When I watched it the second time on this thread I enjoyed it. So you’re getting views, don’t get discouraged. It was good.

If you don't play well in college why should we expect him to play well now.

He showed potential and he’s a good athlete. The film I watched showed him moving around the pocket, avoiding sacks, running and throwing the ball. The preseason games I watched and the last game of last season showed a guy that has potential.

Why do you expect him not to play well? What did you see on his NFL film that makes you believe he’s a lost cause?

I think GM's chase athletic QB's and hope they can mentally figure it out. I think that is hard to do sitting and watching.

That’s why I’m excited about this preseason. I listened to the guy who does that Patriots play by play and in that interview he said the buzz around Milton is how he worked throughout the year to learn defenses. According to this guy he surprised the Patriots with his behind the scenes work on the mental game. I guess he used some kind of 3D VR thing. I never heard of it but it sounded cool.

The good thing is we don’t need him to be anything more than a developing QB at this point. Hopefully he has a strong PS and gives us confidence to be QB2. But for now he can learn the game because Dak isn’t going anywhere for at least 2-3 years.

That 3D VDR is what supposedly improved Jayden Daniels game tremendously, as far as reaction and reading the field.

Milton is a very good linear athlete and has a very reasonable chance to become a long-term NFL back up.
He's big enough and has plenty of arm.
He is not super accurate, nor does he read the field super well.
But that improves with experience and good coaching.

He is also not anywhere near the insane athlete that Josh Allen is.
Milton is big and very fast. He can jump.
But Allen has agility and solid athleticism across all the testing.
Milton refused to do the 3 come drill and short shuttle both at the combine and his pro day.
For a guy rated round 5/6 that is a major red flag about how he performed in those drills in pre-combine training.

I really love this trade, but I also need fans to be sane and set reasonable expectations.
Milton should win QB2 job here and look passable in pre-season. That's the bar.
Comparing him to MVP candidates is just goofy and mean.

Wait, did you make that video? If you did, nice work. You just got yourself a new subscriber.

Yes sir - this is me. If you guys got feedback on new videos you would like me to research on let me know. Heavy into draft content as well.

Having a strong arm is great, but not if the QB is throwing to the wrong guy, or his throws are way off target.

We've seen lots of strong arm QBs fail in the NFL. "Can't miss" prospects with all the physical attributes, like Trevor Lawrence, struggle and disappoint.

Purdy is not the starting QB for the 49ers because he has a strong arm. It's what's between his ears. If Dak was a little better in the mental game he might be considered one of the better QBs in the league too.

I dont see the bad in this trade, play the kid as much as you can in Pre Season and see if he can earn the QB2 spot...if he gets better and puts pressure on QB1 all the better..if he sucks you do it again next year..there is no harm here it was a good trade...screw jerrry..sorry reflexes.
