Joe Milton has 'lottery odds' to become an NFL star: Vols expert breaks down new Cowboys quarterback and why he's controversial. I encourage you to read this article on Joe Milton. It is spot on.

As a Tennessee fan, I can tell you that he will never be a number 1 and, in my opinion, he won’t make it as a number 2 in the league. In one of this biggest games of his career when Tennessee was driving for a TD to win the game, it was 4th and goal and he ran out of bounds instead of trying to force the ball into the end zone for a possible TD or PI. This is a perfect example of his decision making.

The fact that Dallas has a guy in house with TN ties and they still took a flyer on him speaks to the state of our program. Not a good pickup for us IMHO.

Players do develop. They can learn from poor decision-making.

for a 5th rounder, I'll take my chances son.

I'd like to see Milton come in for Dak on 4th and short or goal line plays.

Any creative play calling with a mobile QB is better than just running the RB up the middle and getting hit in the backfield.
Joe Milton III experienced a dream transformation when he fell asleep last night as a New England Patriot, waking up to find his dream had become a reality. On Thursday the Patriots sent the second-year quarterback and a seventh-round draft selection to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.

Milton, a former University of Tennessee product, couldn't hide his enthusiasm about joining the organization his family has supported for years.

"My family grew up a Cowboys fan," Milton said via Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz. "My mom always had a Cowboys shirt on. She always talked about them. Living in Texas has been a longtime dream of mine. And now I'm with them. I'm ready to work."

Just work him in as a rook learning the Dallas way.

A few QBs will be drafted in rounds 3-5 that would be a better investment than Milton. That doesn’t matter because JJ hasn’t put any stock in the position since Aikman retired. As usual Milton is the bottom feeder that Jerry loves. More importantly he won’t challenge Jerry’s highest paid player in the league joke of a QB.

Exactly, this is a whole different conversation if we traded our 1st for him or even a 3rd. But moving down 46 spots in the draft is the definition of low risk high reward.

I don’t think we’ll miss out on too many generational players by trading a 5th round comp pick.

We picked up a developmental player in the 5th round, that’s what the low rounds are for. Let’s see what happens. If he’s a bust I feel our franchise can absorb the loss of a 5th rounder.

If you ever saw Romo at camp his first two years there is no way you would have thought he'd end up being a top starting QB in the NFL. In fact he was terrible at camp in his rookie year with his funky throwing motion
I disagree. It was how he looked in camps that got him noticed by Parcels.

I mean Tom Brady, Brett Farve, Phil Simms, after a quick Google. Lol

Hes a back up, maybe we run an offense he's good in. Maybe he gets coached up somehow. I'll give him a camp and preseason before losing all hope.
Saying Tom Brady was a bad college QB is a horrible take. Look at his senior year and watch the highlights of the bowl game against Bama where he came back from 2 TDs down, I did. The makings of his greatness were there even then. I didn't watch Favre or or Simms in college so I'll amend my statement: I've never seen a bad college QB turn into a good pro QB.
