I think the way Ron Leary "got it" after working w/ this Oline, having the full off-season, it may be clicking for Cooper now too.

Weeks 1 & 2 will be major tests for him... I just hope he can start to realize that potential he had coming out of college.

Some folks are saying "It was the Colts" well...he did against a team like the Colts what a good OLineman should do against a team like the Colts. He SHOULD push a LB back 10yds beind the LOS to open a gaping hole for the RB.

maybe against a better team he only pushes him back 5yds from the LOS and the hole isn't gaping but good enough... either way, the potential showed

I am the one who mentioned the Colts. Hankins didn't line up in front of him on every play.
He had a great game. It just so happened to be against the Colts.
I stand by my assessment of Cooper, which was a positive one.

The offensive line is gaining improved interactions and a little 'tude to the carpet.

Cooper looked good, but I'm not sure if call him the real deal just yet. I'm still more intrigued with Green at LG. He's a mover, but just can't stay healthy at all. Not saying I don't like Cooper, I do, but he's still not the same player who came out of college. Yes the injury bug derailed a lot of that. But IMO if Green can overcome his injury issues I think he is the far superior player.

Green is the ideal swing guy who can also play guard. He makes the best rotation guy for your gameday rioster. Cooper looked very good so I would go with him at G and keep your injury prone guy healthy!

He looked good. Fred Beard allowed him to get to the second level and dominate linebackers. The issue is that the Colts quite possibly have the worst front 7 in the league.

He's going to keep on developing and resemble Nate Newton...

Please...only in the way he plays. Nate was a big, fatty not the sleek type of OL that the Cowboys now covets. Nate was a great player
in a different era where very large lineman just used their bulk to wear you down.

Cowboys were not looking for fat OL back then either. Hell Nate was getting fined almost every year by the team for being over weight. Fact is Nate play on the field is why they stopped fining him.

Well, you are right that Nate admits that he was always trying to lose weight to play. I would submit that Larry Allen was no svelte
lineman either. Larry was a very large man but, he could certainly move at a quicker speed than Nate. Nate was called the "kitchen" when
he first came to the Cowboys and he was a very large man. The team now looks for very nimble lineman in the 310-315lb range who can run.

Not really much fat, it was reported he got down to 11% body fat

“He did it like it was 315,” said defensive tackle Brandon Noble. “It was pretty scary.”

All the training made Allen's upper body a bit thicker, but by doing more running in the offseason he's trimmed his body fat to 11 percent.

“That means he has 300 pounds of just bone and muscle,” Juraszek said. “He's genetically gifted.”

I'm talking in the quality of a good interior linemen interacting with a great line....as to personal gasping of air, that's yours.

I certainly wasn't trying to be snarky and I hope you weren't either. Just stating an opinion is not trying to stab you with a knife.
