Jonathan Scott released

A better retread than McQuistan I think.

Scott does get knicked a lot.

Which is why I wouldn't be interested in him as a starter, even if I am a Horns fan... but I'll be honest, I'm a little nervous about the Boys' depth at tackle right now...

I agree. I have been since last season. I think they were very fortunate health wise and I wouldn't push my luck again.

That's one definition, but when applied to sports, and more specifically football, it means a player who doesn't excel or standout and plays for several different teams in his career.

Exactly, he's the stop-gap while you look for someone better. Some good players play for multiple teams because of salary cap concerns, etc., but the term "journeyman" isn't correct for them......

Was Deion Sanders a journey man
was Emmit Smith?

Emmitt played for the same amount of teams

That is a poor analogy. Neither Deion or Emmitt played for 3 different teams within the first 5 years of their respective careers. Those guys not only were clearly starters on their teams, but some of the best in the game. Scott hasn't started half of the games he has appeared in during his tenure. Sanders and Smith were also not released by their teams when they were 29 years old. All signs point to journeyman.

Scott was a bit of an underacheiver at Texas. Had good size and athleticism, but seemed lazy. I don't think anything has changed.

its somebody on another team., therefore he must be better. except when we argue with other fans and our own fans that we are one of the most talented teams in the league.

Most of the people on this board probably aren't from Texas.

Probably aren't Texas fans either.

Probably why nobody here knows him

That's what I was going to say.

I'm not a UT fan, and I'm not from Texas.

But if the guy's any good, no reason why we can't bring him in for a look see. Nothing wrong with churning the bottom of the roster.

Being a UT alum always pains me to see Texas players in the NFL, very few are stars or any good for that matter. Stupid Mack Brown.

He was an All-State and all-american OT at Dallas Carter.
Was all-american at Texas.

Drafted in round 5 falling well below expectations but didn't even make the team.

Not sure what his motivation level is.

No more than a back up OT who would serve us no real purpose imho.

All that said if he could be trained as an abv-avg OG, great, but no other team has made that transition with him.

I agree . poor analogy. it just gets tiring of some of the things thrown around so matter of fact. and the term journeyman deff over used last few weeks
