Jones - we will go all out in finale

I normally like for players to play. I’ve never been a fan of resting players to avoid injury. It’s frustrating watching teams sit their key players in late season games and then when the playoffs start they spend the first quarter looking like players who haven’t played in several weeks.

I feel differently this year. Specifically when it comes to Zeke and the offensive line. Injuries and illness have transformed what was considered the team’s best unit going into the season into, perhaps, its worst unit vs Colts & Bucs.

Tyron Smith and Zack Martin have both been hobbled recently and I’d be fine seeing them sitting out completely for the last game with minimum practice.

That sounds about how it will play out. Don't take the week off. Get out there, try to put it away early, and then rest your horses.
This is a dumb idea... I'm sorry. Practice your horses all you want.. make sure they are extremely ready for the playoff game but don't play them in a meaningless game. One injury to a major star and we are doomed. NYG will be playing their hearts out too. Play our scrubs and let them win in the meaningless game and then week 1 of the playoffs everyone is healthy and ready to roll. It's just one meaningless game.

Yep. We all know how skipping meaningless games has gone in the past... Zeke may not play but i'm playing everyone else for a quarter or two..

I agree somewhat with Jones. The offense struggled mightily against Indianapolis and was only a hair better versus Tampa Bay.

They need in-game repetitions in conjunction with practice. The offense should not depend on the defense to shorten the field to score. They should depend on their own ability to sustain drives into the endzone.

I cosign this 100%!! This offense should have been feasting on the NFL's 28th-ranked defense yesterday.

Not worth the risk. If something happens to him we’re not winning one playoff game. I’ll take the slow start and a strong finish in two weeks.
Slow starts in the playoffs have killed us.

In 2014..

Romo could not get it going early and we ended up losing to an injured Rodgers.

In 2016..

we got cute with the resting in the last game and the next game..

a playoff game we spotted them 20+ points before losing.

DAK stunk in the first half of the game.

Ain't worth the falloff.

Play everybody who is healthy enough to play until the game is decided.

he has zero idea of how JG will handle this, they will start like normal but I imagine they start sitting people after 1st series in third, thats good enough to stay in Normalcy..
So you don’t think Jerry talks with jg multiple times a day? You don’t think Jerry will hear directly from jg what the plan will be?

So do you think more snaps is gonna improve our offense?

Think? Not necessarily. 'Hope' would be a better description of my expectation. If you asked me whether I thought the offense's execution level would remain the same in the wild card game without in-game snaps gained in the season finale, my answer would have been yes.

Sometimes it goes good and sometimes it doesn't. Hard to say what the reasoning is. The NFL is so random sometimes. Could you imagine Dak playing and he gets hit in the knee and done? That is it for us... and for what? To get him more reps against a pathetic Giants team in crappy weather? Dumb man. Same goes for Zeke or any other critical starter. JG needs to motivate the team (I say motivate because he isn't capable of anything else) he is just a talker. Also they need to practice a lot and be ready for that playoff game. If something happens to one of our critical starters, he is going to look more foolish than he already does.

I'd take out everyone who's not a rookie (Vander Esch as an exception) after the 1st quarter. This is a good game to see Cooper Rush in what is essentially another pre-season game.

hmmmm Isn't Cooper Rush a rookie? Nice try working your agenda in there...

For as nerdy as all of you guys are when it comes to football, I would expect the majority of the people in here to know that form >>>>>>rest

I guess have any expectations for you guys is too much...this team does not need rest, it needs reps..they don't have to play the entire game against nyg...but that terrible performance by the offense yesterday is not the way to go into the playoffs..no way

My...agenda? This is Rush's second season, no? I wouldn't risk injury to our franchise quarterback in what is essentially a meaningless game. That's coming from someone who hates the Giants quite a bit, I only hate the Eagles more.

My bad... There's been a lot of talk about the Seattle game. I wasn't even thinking. We haven't even played the Giants yet...
