Will The Cowboys actually give Micah Parsons a record-breaking contract or if a trade could become a possibility. It still seems far-fetched now..

There is 0 chance they trade Parsons

And if they did, it would be the dumbest thing they have done probably since trading for Roy Williams
Probably right but that offer of DK and Gino for Crosby does make me wonder if SEA wouldn’t possibly reach out especially with their defensive minded coach. Hmmm…

They can reach out all they want. You dont trade MVP caliber talent

I’m in agreement but you don’t win with signing everyone at the top of the market either. Does make you wonder what the offer would be with Parsons being a younger better player that Crosby.

Im just saying the arent going to consider it. Not just because it a bad idea, but also because the Cowboys brand is built around people like Parsons. They arent going to let highly marketable players go

First of all, very unlikely he will be MVP

Second, the objective is not an MVP caliber playet, it is to win a SB. If we pay him 40 million we are not going to a SB
You are closer to a SB with him than without him. He is our defense

I didn't say he will win and MVP. I said he was an MVP talent.

The slice of cap he gets will probably be the same Chris Jones had when the Chiefs won their Super Bowls. This "you cant win a SB paying someone that much" is just groupthink

All these capologists around here that spend 40 hours per week in a cubicle, on a construction site, or in front of cash register, know best!l though right!

Gotta wake up and not think in abstracts
WE are the team you have to look at not ANY team
Cant win paying 3-4 players 50% of your salary
Guess what, next year we are going to pay an OG LT money to stay

The most important factor is that Micah is a LB playing DE.
His stats including TFL, solo and comb tackles have been dropping every year
His sacks dropped this year
He is missing time for injury

Disappears in the playoffs

He will not hold up and will be missing more time in the next few years

He is not worth 40 million

Gotta think about the team not the player

You have to sign your young superstars. Period!!

Then how would it be "the best thing since the Hershel Walker trade" ?
You trade him for two 1st round picks, maybe more. Take the 40M to sign 2 or 3 good starting Free Agents (could probably get Sweat and Williams for 40)... This team is nowhere near contending for a deep playoff run..So you end up with Sweat and Williams PLUS two 1st rounders...

Just for arguments sake
Carolina gives pick 8 this year and pick 110(4th) as well as a 2026 1st round pick

Then Sign DE Joey Bosa and Za'Darius Smith to two year contracts
Draft WR Tet at 8 and DE Mykell Williams at 12.
2026 LB Hill from Texas with the other 1st.
They won't do this but it may look something like this. In some bizarro world where it could actually happen.
