To have two very good players. They know that. The big question is why would they draft Rodriguez and also keep Brooks?

Keep dreaming.Sign and trade
That play the same position too. Lucky them, I guess. I've been begging for Brooks for the last 3 months. DamnTo have two very good players.
Who is?? I'm talking about the hate fest for broaddusHe is pretty good.
3 years is not a long-term deal. They're in rebuilding mode so in his last year of his deal would be the earliest that miami would be ready to compete and then you would have to sign him again to a much bigger contract. If he was a building block, you sign him to atvleast a 4-yr- preferably 5-yr deal.he was given a long term deal
Him and Achane are the building blocks. That’s why we traded for winters
Troy is having a great impact on them lolThat play the same position too. Lucky them, I guess. I've been begging for Brooks for the last 3 months. Damn
Yeah that’s what I’m saying. You’d have to convince Miami to not only trade him but take the cap hit. It’s still doable, but will be rich in compensation requiredHe just signed an extension pay attention guys !

Sign and trade isn’t really much of a thing in the NFL like it is in the NBASign and trade
He still had time on his previous contract. Hes a Dolphin until 2030… that’s definitely long term3 years is not a long-term deal. Sign and trades happen...this would be similar
Miami would have to eat the entire signing bonus Brooks just got, right? $35m!Don’t be so quick to shoot this idea down
Contract extension and all
And Kyle LouisWhy did Miami draft Rodriguez?
What about this video made him a loud mouth?Zero chance anything comes of this. Broaddus is just being a loud mouth again.
He says nonsensical things all the time to get attention. He is wrong about 95% of the time. Guy is full of himself and has zero reason to be that way. What about this video made him a loud mouth?
There wouldn’t be a new deal. The fact that Miami eats the signing bonus is one of the most attractive things for the new teamAny team that traded for him was going to have to negotiate a new deal with Brooks, so now that is already done… if the new team agrees to the extension Miami gave him then it is doable.
I believe the new team can choose to take some of the bonus money but I’m not 100% sure about that.
I guess it is possible but in my mind it is highly unlikely to happen…. I’ve been wrong before though.
| Year | Base | Bonus | Cap Hit | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | $1,215,000 | $50,000 | $1,265,000 | |
| 2027 | $12,500,000 | $400,000 | $12,900,000 | |
| 2028 | $15,300,000 | $400,000 | $15,700,000 |
My point wasn't about cap hit to us. But the bonus they just paid to extend him, which would be money Miami lost and get nothing in return$20 million cap hit. Can the Cowboys deal their “other” first? Because for a $20 million hit the Dolphins will want to be buying more than a second rounder.
But if Miami paid a bonus, Miami is not getting that money back.Maybe to make him more valuable? Who knows, it doesn't make sense to have both.
It would not be the first time to spend money for draft picks. We would have over compensate to make it happen. He just signed an extension pay attention guys !
Broaddus on GBAG today saying we need to seriously pay attention to the fire sale Miami is about to have. Apparently Brooks is “something to keep an eye on”
Thoughts?
