In 2022, Joseph had 8 penalties for 94 yards in 512 snaps (Defense and special teams)

1 Penalty every 64 snaps.

Not great, but nothing to cut a guy over.

they cut plenty of second round picks, heck they only cut Jalen Smith but they paid the dude too much then turn around and cut him mid-season and owe him money... how about hill if eric's got and some of these other young guys are playing well enough this could be it for Kelvin Joseph I mean he may get one more season because of the way he plays on special teams but I think his days are numbered....
Hill got 3 1/2 seasons before being waived.

Smith got 6 years and a second contract.

Taco was the only I can really think of who didn’t make it through season 3. But he wanted out with tweets that said “Free Me”

Joseph is going into year 3. Make or break for him. I am not a fan of him. Just saying that they likely give him a 3rd year.

You are becoming toward Joseph like CowboyRoy is toward Elliott. I don't know how Joseph will turn out. It may end badly for him, but anyone's eyes who actually worked Saturday would have seen that he played well when he was out there.
Difference is that bum can prove me wrong and I'll admit it. I didn't see anything vs jags worth mentioning.

So you can't acknowledge that he did his job and did not allow a single reception?

I don’t see them cutting him being a 2nd round pick.

You let him play this year then attempt to trade him / play out his contract
He was a collasal mistake.

I still believe Trevor Moehrig was the pick before the Raiders moved up. I felt it was a panic pick

I think it's likely because of his work as a special teams gunner. He was really good at that, especially when he avoided bone-headed penalties. I think he'd have to show himself to be a true liability as a corner for him to not make the team for special-teams play.

I don't know. After the two corners got taken in the first, I think we were looking corner all the way in the second. Kind of like we did this year with the tight ends. I think Tyson Campbell may have been the corner we were hoping would be available.

I don’t see how you can keep him when you really don’t need him and it means cutting a player like Stephens who could become a huge part of the future. You keep the best 53 that help you win now and into the future. He doesn’t fit that bill and sometimes you have to cut bait. I’m not risking good players to keep Joseph and extra year in the hopes that he can become tradable. My hope would be that he never has to see the field so I’m keeping one of the young guys that looks to actually be a productive player.

Yeah because there will be teams lined up to trade for a former 2nd rounder who couldn't get on the field, who's possibly a behavior issue as well

Yeah because there's plenty of teams in line to trade for a former 2nd rounder who couldn't get on the field

I don't know if he did his job/assignments the whole game but yes, he didn't allow a reception on 2-3 targets.
All right. We'll start there. I don't know either if he did his job/assignments the whole game. It's kind of like I said about Nashon Wright, I didn't see him give up a reception, but they also didn't throw at him so I don't know if that means he had good coverage or just that the primary read was open or another player was more open, etc. We need to see more from both players to draw any real conclusions.

I do know Bland gave up some catches on the outside, which confirmed that he might be a better slot corner right now than outside corner; Scott didn't have a particularly good game and neither did Mukuamu, although he did break up a two-point throw. I did see a few good things from our USFL signee Josh Butler, though.

if you and others believe he's improving that's cool. I hope he plays 3 quarters next 2 games and gets 10 plus targets. That'll be put up or shut up. I'm done discussing that bum until then

I’m not sure where this is coming from?

Joseph actually had a very good preseason game last week.

Why isn’t anyone talking about that?

I’m guessing some watched this. There’s on play he was holding clearly. Not sure I saw any others by him though.

He grabs and holds on just about every play. He is a penalty waiting to happen. They might cut him.
He is really grabby and will definitely get his fair share of penalties if he is asked to play coverage. He's a special teams asset and that is all he is every really going to be here in Dallas.
