In my opinion, it's just yet another indictment of how the Cowboys handled their running back situation.

People can point to any number of decisions that now look highly questionable.

And, no matter how anyone would try to spin it, relying on Randle to help fill that void is a failure of epic proportions.

That was my concern in the offseason. He is too immature and not a leader,. It sure came to light this season a few times. Maybe he will bounce back with another team, or be caught stealing drugs in 3 years.

I can't help but think he's got some mental health issues, much like the receiver from Detroit whose names escapes me. Unlike that guy, I hope Randle manages his without any more problems with the law.

But this team knew him as well as anyone and should have know better than to take this level of risk.

It seems like they took several risks with what they had at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver and they've all blown up in their face.

Extremely small sample size. And his YPC last year was near 7. If it dropped that far since then, that's very telling.
As a feature back where defenses are keying on him. he's a spare.

Last year he had 51 carries, the fewest in his career. So your notion that last year set somekind of benchmark for him and his average doesn't work.

Since when was he a feature back? This year he had 76 carries in 6 games or 12 carries a game. So your notion about that doesn't work either.

As a "starter" he has run for 404 yards on 109 carries over 8 games. That equals 3.7ypc.

Extracting "starters" numbers from a RBBC is pretty meaning less. Yes I would say that if he was at 5.0 or more.

The eye test tells me that he's an average scatback ( 3rd down back). Smaller type running back. Nothing special but could find himself in some dark lonely NFL team near the bottom of the rotation if he plays his cards right. Problem is each year, more Randle types enter the NFL.

Hope he clears up his personal issues and saved some money, but you will NEVER see Randle as a starting running back on ANY NFL team .....CFL maybe , Arena maybe, YMCA pick up flag football league definitely.

His best series have come earlier in games so being a member of a RBBC helps Randle. His frame and his style aren't made to carry a full 25-30 carries.

You have questioned 'feature' and now 'starter' but those are his numbers. He is nothing better than a RBBC member.

He is a cookie cutter boy band member, not Justin Timberlake who made it big on his own.

Titus Young? I don't think Randle is at his level. Yet.

Maybe the Pats look at him, based on Dion Lewis being done for the year.

He still is facing suspension. But if they picked him up Blount and him would make up the craziest backfield in history.
