From listening to him talk, it sounds like he has some alpha male in him.

my favorite thing about Randle is he is primarily a downhill runner AND has soft hands. has decent elusiveness in the open field but that is more than compensated for in his knack to go north/south instead of trying to be cute going towards the sideline and only getting 1-2 yards

i think he'll give Dunbar some great competition

After watching his "highlights".....(remind you this is his highlights..who knows what else is out there)

I thought he ran rather high...and looks to take too much punishment.

He got away w/ that in college.... I fear he is just asking to get lite up on the next level if he doesn't lower his pad level.

Will be interesting to see what kind of vision he has. He had all kinds of huge running lanes @ OSU.....which he will find non-existent in Big D. So hopefully he will be able to find and squeeze though 1/2 the size of running lanes he was accustomed to @ OSU.

Looks like he has decent hands.......But can he block?

Some of those clips looked like he might get a little over whelmed by the blitz by Lbers on this level. We will see.

Not a huge fan of this guy myself. He does run a bit upright, and his top end speed is not as fast as I'd like to see. Seems like a good solid guy for the role we were looking to fill, though.

That was the other thing that stood out as well. In a lot of his clips you see him break away... only to get caught from behind:banghead:

But to his credit...he did seem to run to daylight well.

And he did have some wiggle.

My question is ....what does this mean for Dunbar?

Randle is a little bigger but not by much. You could almost make the argument you drafted pretty much the same player as Dunbar.

Cringed right after we selected Escobar....Steelers took Le'von Bell. Thought he would have complimented what we already had- much better.

Yeah I'm sick about the Stealers getting Bell. Anywho it looks to me like we have a better back in Dunbar although he seems a bit fragile to me. I just hope Murray can finally stay healthy and we don't have to find out...

No.. One could not make that argument at all.

Randle will be very solid. He is a very solid back and a complete back. There were times at osu where he created things when there was nothing there. Now he did have a good line. However, there is a reason why kiper and mcshay said that he could be the Alfred Morris of this draft. I think he was very underrated in this draft.

Steal of the draft. Not just ours, the entire draft.

Mighty big words. I hope you are right.

Er ... probably not.

I have a feeling that there's a similar post on every team forum on the internet about a player on their favorite team.

You'd rather have selected Bell in the second rather than Randle in the fifth? Are you nuts?

He looks exactly like Demarco Murray to me except not as physically gifted. Everything is almost the same though.

RB's usually fall in the draft so I wouldn't take one unless you're getting good value with the pick. Randle in the 5th round fits that description. It's not often that you get an immediate contributor to your team in the 5th round.

Every profile I have seen of Randle talks about him being good in pass protection and having good hands. This would allow him to be a decent 3rd down back and give Murray some rest throughout the game.

It would also be helpful considering the talk of us going to a 2TE offense. If Randle is good at pass pro, then we won't feel as vulnerable when both of our TEs are running routes.

With his all around skills, the Cowboys probably also think he can be their main back if Murray is injured and can't play.

I like the pick, good runner and receiver. Hasn't missed a game in college. Good addition to the team.

I also think Lawrence from Mizzou will unseat Dunbar for the 3rd RB position.
